Pebblepaw silently slipped into Daisy's temporary den. "He-hello." said Pebblepaw nervously. What would Crowstar say if she knew what she was doing? What would Sorrelheart say?
"What do you want?" snapped Daisy. "Did one of those warriors tell you to come here?" he hissed the word "warriors" with pure disgust.
"No...they'd kill me if they knew I was doing this." admitted Pebblepaw. "But I'm setting you free."
"WHAT?" Daisy yelled, suddenly remembering to whisper. "Is this a trap? I'm being guarded."
"No." Pebblepaw looked away, looking guilty. "Not any more. I know the cats. I know how to get rid of them. You're free to go."
Daisy smiled. "You're a nifty little kitty aren't you?"
"Just hurry up! Before my Clan notice what I'm doing!"
"OK, OK." Daisy sighed. She got up, looking stiff. "I guess."
"You guess? What do you mean you guess?" hissed Pebblepaw.
Daisy just did a silent chuckle and left camp.
"PEBBLEPAW!" came a loud bellow from the other side of the clearing. "DID YOU JUST LET OUR PRISONER GO!?!" yelled Angelwing.
"Yes! And I'm proud I did it! You wanna know why? 'Cause if I hadn't then she would have died!"
"YES!" screamed the warrior. "But since you let her go, she'll keep on killing our cats! Do you want to be next??"
Pebblepaw straightened up. "She would never! We made an agreement! I let her go. She leaves our territory. Simples." Pebblepaw shrugged.
"Do you think she'll stick to her word? This is a rogue cat - without StarClan! Without the warrior code!" Angelwing's shouting had brought most of the Clan into the clearing. "Do you realize what you've done?"
"She wouldn't hurt us any more!" Pebblepaw yelled back, scaring herself. Unfortunately, she didn't scare Angelwing.
"What's going on here?" Crowstar stepped into the clearing.
"This little know-it-all..." Angelwing flicked her tail at Pebblepaw. "...Let the prisoner escape." she told her sister.
"WHAT?!?!" there were gasps around them. Crowstar yelled even louder than her sister, Angelwing.
"She promised to leave our territory!" hissed Pebblepaw.
"Pebblepaw!" this time it was the voice of Sorrelheart. She didn't have the voice of an angry Clan-mate, but that of a mentor very disappointed in her apprentice. "She doesn't live by the warrior code! That promise probably was just some words to her."
"No! Daisy would never hurt another soul again!" Pebblepaw screeched.
A thrill scream sounded from the nursery, cutting off their argument.
