JJ: Of all the departments, why’d you choose the BAU? Hotch: You know, I had prosecuted dozens of murder cases and by the time they had reached my desk, I had always felt like it was too late. And I wanted to, ah, stop them before they got to my desk. That doesn’t really answer your question. JJ: No, it doesn’t. Hotch: I guess I’m still trying to figure it out.
