Hugh drove with one hand on the wheel and the other interlocked with her hand. He loved Jo but it was a different love. It was love for raising his children when he couldn’t be there. It was a love of supporting him when he was down. A love for accepting him after he cheated for the first time. He loved Lisa differently. Jo took a small space in his heart but Lisa took up his whole heart. She was his world and it made it even better that they had created life together.
“Here we are.” He said turning into the driveway of his home. Jo had just come to the states to visit Hugh 2 days ago. “I’m scared.” She said before he parked the car. “Don’t be.” They got out and walked hand in hand to the door. They walked in to find no one around. “Jo!” He shouted as his voice echoed. “Hugh?” She yelled back coming into the room. “Uh, maybe we should sit down.” He said suddenly feeling nervous.
“Jo, about a month ago, on my birthday, I took Lisa to a party. Just to celebrate. We got…a little drunk. My buddy, Hale, drove us home so we wouldn’t die. I forgot my house keys so Lisa kindly offered that I crash at her place. I did. Somehow, we woke up in bed…together. We decided that it was just the alcohol and to never tell anyone about it again.” He paused to wait for her reaction.
Jo stayed calm and didn’t show any emotion so he continued. Hugh gave a worried look at Lisa. “Just today Lisa…she found out she was pregnant.” He said. An awkward silence engulfed the room. “Jo? How are you feeling about all this?” He asked. She casually got up and walked towards Hugh. He thought that she was walking out of the room but she was really going to slap him. She slapped him hard on the face, leaving a red mark.
“Ouch!…I deserved that.” He said rubbing his face. Jo then walked infront of Lisa who didn’t see her coming because she had her head in her hands. When she looked up she was slapped hard by Jo. “Bitch!” She spat out at Lisa. Her words were full of venom and hatred. “Hey! She didn’t deserve that! It was my falt we slept together.” Hugh said helping Lisa sit up straight again. “No, I did deserve it.” Lisa was now rubbing her very redened face now.
Jo stormed out of the room and into the kitchen. They then heard voices coming from the kitchen so they tiptoed over and listened in. “They actually think that you were faithful.” A male voice spoke. “I know. I am so good.” Jo’s voice sounded with a giggle. “Your’e evilness makes me so horny.” The man said. “God, you make me horny too.” Jo said and then there was silence. Hugh and Lisa looked at eachother in awe as they poked around the corner.
“Eh hem.” Lisa pretended to clear her voice. Jo pushed the man away and straightened her shirt out. “Rick?!” Hugh noticed who the man was. “Hey, Hugh.” Rick, the mailman, said waving. “Faithful? The whole time?” He asked Jo. “Hey, it’s not like you were perfect either.” She said. “Well, then. We should be going. I want you out of my house by tomorrow and I want his ass away from the kids, Jo.” He grabbed Lisa’s hand. “I’ll be sure to send the divorce papers quickly so you two can get on with your perfect little life.” She retorted. “That’s all we ask of you.” Lisa smiled at her. “Bye bitch.” Jo said sweetley waving. Lisa kindly and politley gave her the finger and walked out with Hugh’s arm around her waist.
“That went well.” He said as they got into the car. “Yeah. It went a lot smoother than I thaught. I guess there was really no need to bring this then.” She said as she reached under her skirt and pulled out a small dog tazer. “Holy shit, Lisa!” He said with a laugh. “Well, you can never be too prepared.” She put the tazer in the back seat. “Now get driving to the hospital.” She comanded and off they drove.
20 minutes later they arrived at LAH (Los Angeles Hospital). It was a very good hospital and that’s why they drove the extra 10 minutes to go to this one.
“Hi, I need to make an appointment with Dr. Helen Bakus.” Lisa said to the nurse there. Dr. bakus had been her friend’s doctor when she was pregnant and she was very good. “Oh, your in luck. Dr. Bakus is in the clinic right now and will be out in about 10 minutes. If you could just fill out these papers and she’ll be right out.” The kind lady said handing her a cliboard, pen, and the papers. “Thankyou.” Hugh and Lisa sat in the waiting room and filled out the papers. Once she was done filling out the papers she handed them to the nurse and 5 minutes later Dr. Bakus came out.
“Ms. Edelstein.” Dr. Bakus announced. Hugh and Lisa arose and walked into an exam room. “Ok, so you are pregnant. How far along are we?” The Dr. asked very professionally. “I just found out today.” Lisa said. “Hmmmm…good. If you could lean back and lift up your shirt we will get a picture and a some numbers.” Hugh put a pillow behind her head and held her hand. The Dr. squirt some jelly onto her belly and rubbed it around with the wand. She turned the machine towards herself, not giving Lisa or Hugh much seeing acess.
