‘Mmmm’, Lisa almost moaned as she took another bite of her curry. Hugh smiled, ‘You want me to leave you two alone for a minute?’ Lisa smirked, ‘It’s just so good, I could eat this every day.’ ‘Well than maybe we can come back here another time, like one of our Thursday nights.’ Lisa nodded and smiled, she was happy that he apparently still wanted to spend his Thursday nights with her. She had been a little scared that if he got a girlfriend they couldn’t do that anymore. ‘Is your curry good too?’, Lisa smiled. ‘Yes, it’s very delicious.’ ‘Good.’ ‘Hmmm.’ ‘So ehm… are you taking this woman here too tomorrow?’, Lisa ask a pang of sadness visible in her eyes. ‘N-no, I’m taking here to another restaurant.’ ‘Oh.. okay…’ ‘I-I didn’t think it was appropriate to bring her here, I mean… this is your favorite restaurant and…’, Hugh tried to explain. Lisa nodded and smiled softly, she appreciated it that Hugh wasn’t going to bring this other woman here. She was already jealous of this woman and that didn’t need to be fueled by Hugh taking her to their place, at least that was how she felt. Hugh saw the storm of emotions in Lisa’s eyes and suddenly wasn’t that scared of rejection anymore. ‘Lizzie…’, Hugh whispered. Lisa looked up at him, he never called her that unless he was completely comfortable. ‘Would you like to maybe… dance with me?’
Lisa blushed and smiled brightly at this proposal, ‘I’d like that.’ Hugh smiled too and grab her hand as he led her to the small but very romantic dance floor in one of the corners of the restaurant. There were about 11 other couples dancing so they didn’t feel like they were making fools out of themselves. Lisa’s dress was nicely flowing around her body as Hugh swirled her over the dance floor. He had pressed her close against him, his arms wrapped around her waist, his hands securely resting just above her hipbones, while she had wrapped her arms around his neck. They just gazed into each others eyes, both starting to drown in the other. The only words Hugh’s brain seemed to be able to form were ‘I-love-you’, the sentence silently repeating itself over and over again following the rhythm of his heartbeat. He did love her, so much, he never wanted this to end ever. Just having her close to him, preferably as close as she could be before they would surely melt into each other. As Lisa started into those amazing blue eyes, she felt her hart warm and knew her body temperature would never return to normal again as long as she was with Hugh. The parts of her body that connected with his where completely on fire while the spots he didn’t touch felt abandoned and cold, even though she was sure that even in those spots her temperature was at least 102 degrees.
As they were staring into each others eyes they had subconsciously moved their heads closer and closer to each other. Their eyes started to flutter and shut completely when by a magnetic force their lips joined together in their own dance. There were no thoughts anymore, just emotions. His lips softly grazed over hers as she tried to capture the warmth. His hands slowly roamed over her luscious body as his fingertips tried to memorize every inch of her. She nibbled on his lips as he opened his mouth a little trying to lightly suck on her lips. Their tongues met shyly, but after a quick feel out started to battle passionately. They both felt something they had never felt before. In their oxygen-deprived, brain-dead or at least unconscious state, the only thing they knew existed was this feeling of pure happiness and love. It was only when the music stopped and a waiter dropped 3 plates they regained consciousness and broke their kiss, thereby shattering what only could be explained as heaven.
They didn’t dare to look into each others eyes as they were both in shock of what just had happened. Hugh was the first one to even move and placed a hand on Lisa’s waist leading her back to their table, followed by the gaze of many people in the restaurant. They sat down and sipped their drinks as they both couldn’t talk. Lisa’s brain had suddenly gotten into overdrive as she realized what they had done. Why had they kissed? That wasn’t supposed to happen, this was supposed to be a fake date. Hugh had a real date tomorrow and not with her, so it was wrong, very wrong, but then why had it felt so right? Why was he the only man that had ever made her feel that way? Why did she love him so much even though she thought she knew it could never happen?
Hugh experienced a storm of thought aswell, but his were different. Maybe when he lay in bed tonight he would say he had been delusional, but now he couldn’t stop thinking about a future with Lisa. Buying a home together, getting married, maybe even have a baby and of course lots of pets, dogs, cats, rabbits anything Lisa wanted. He just sat there opposite of Lisa with a goofy smile on his face as she tried to hold back her tears. When he finally returned in some kind of neutral state he looked at her and saw how sad she looked. He suddenly got scared again, didn’t she feel the same? Were the passion and the love he thought he felt on the dance floor just a mere illusion?
‘Sir, Miss, is everything according to your wishes?’, they both looked up at the waiter. ‘Ehh yeah… the food was delicious.’ The waiter nodded, ‘Would you like to have the desert menu?’ ‘I-ehm… Liz, do you?’ ‘Ehm… yeah sure…’, she said not really knowing what the waiter had asked. ‘Alright then, two desert menu’s please.’ The waiter handed them the menu’s and walked away. ‘Liz?’, Hugh said. ‘Hmm?’, she looked at him and suddenly felt like a very little girl. ‘Liz, I-I just want to say that as much as I can say about what just happened is that…’ ‘It was odd?’, Lisa filled in for him suddenly getting her playful side back. ‘How long are you going to punish me for that?’ ‘How about for all eternity.’, she smirked, trying to find their rhythm again. ‘Hmmm, well I’m still very sorry about that.’ ‘You better.’ ‘Well let’s just order desert then, everything’s on me anyway.’, Hugh replied, feeling that Lisa wasn’t ready to talk about their little encounter yet.
After desert Hugh paid the bill and drove Lisa home. They did talk, but only about light topics, nothing deep. While talking Hugh had decided he would call off his date for tomorrow. There was no need to go out with a woman, when he really wanted to be with someone else, someone he was deeply in love with. He knew Lisa was still confused, so he had to take this slow with her, but he didn’t mind, he would fly to the moon and back if that would make her happy.
Hugh drove his car into Lisa’s driveway and opened the door for her as she slowly made her way to her front door. He followed her and saw how she her hand was trembling as she tried to put the key in the keyhole. ‘Let me…’, he whispered as he captured her hand in his, which steadied her hand so the key finally slid into it’s hole. She opened the door and stepped inside, then turned to say goodnight. ‘I-I…’, she started. He stepped closer to her and put his hands on her waist. ‘Don’t worry Liz, like you said, it’s just me…’ She nodded and relaxed under his touch as he pulled her into a hug. Tears started to form in her eyes as she knew she would never be that happy again without him. He slowly let go of her but saw her helplessly standing in front of him, trembling again. It was then when his manly courage took over as he saw his damsel-in-distress, he picked her up into his arms and brought her to the bedroom as she now stared at him with curiosity…
