The next morning, Dawn is wondering why Paul had invited her near the Sycamore Tree.

Piplup is about to go with her when she sees him.

Dawn: Piplup, no. Please stay here.

Piplup: Pip. Lup.

Dawn walks out the door of the hotel.

She enters the woods.

Dawn: *thinking* Okay Dawn. No need to worry about a thing. He just wants to meet you, that's all.

She sees Paul setting up a picnic of breakfast.

Dawn: Paul, what's this?

Paul: Good morning to you too, Dawn.

Dawn: Oh, sorry. Hi Paul! What's this?

Paul: I just thought maybe we can get to know each other more. While eating.

Dawn: *sits down next to Paul* Thanks. So, to get this started. Where are you from?

Paul: Veilstone City.

Dawn: *takes a bite out of a muffin* Oh, I hear that place is near Lake Valor. I'm from Twinleaf Town.

Paul: Interesting. I saw you hanging out with what's his name? Ah! Barry. Are you a "thing" with him?

Dawn: Why does that matter to you? And no, were just friends. We always have been eversince the 1st grade.

Paul: Oh. Cool, I guess.

An awkward silence takes over the rest of the picnic until Paul talks again.

Paul: So, should I walk you back to the hotel?

Dawn: Sure.

They walk back to the hotel in Snowpoint City!
