PLEASE HELP

huh? So your laptop is broken (please specify)and you think if you download itunes to another computer ur songs will still be there? Doubt it...unleass, do you have an iPod with your songs on it? If so just sync it to another computer. If not....hmm, is your hard drive still intact? If so, you can take it out and back it up onto another computer, assuming that the data isnt corrupt...if all else fails, ask a professional, cause this is fanpop.com, not apple.com

First of all, I have removed my previous answer to this question because I realised it wasn’t complete & might result in you losing your data altogether. I hope you haven’t seen my previous answer & acted on it. If you have, I can only say I’m very sorry & I didn’t mean to mislead you: I had honestly thought my info was correct at the time I posted it. Since then, I realised my previous answer only applied to items purchased from iTunes & I wanted to find out if it applies to everything else: I experimented & found out.
I only have MAC computers & I don’t know if this applies to or will work for PCs. You can only recover items you purchased off iTunes. When syncing, iTunes tells you there are purchased items on your iPod that are not in your library & asks if you want to transfer them to your library, warning you if you don’t you will lose them. When you click OK your iPod will start syncing & the purchased items will appear in the “Purchased” playlist. All other items that are not in your iTunes library will be lost.
If you have the CDs you can add them back in to your library. It’ll be time consuming but, you can keep-up-to-date with your iTunes library. Otherwise, you can prevent your iPod from syncing by checking the “Prevent iPods, iPhones, and iPads from syncing automatically” box in the “Devices” section of “iTunes Preferences”. You can still keep everything on your iPod while you charge-up but, you won’t be able to sync with your library.
