MRS REED treats jane with contempt.jane is treated like a servant by her aunt.Oppressed by her own ,jane suffers and longs for "human affection".little jane is thus cast aside.

MRS REED favours only her children and is incapable of loving jane.she does not want to have anything to do with her.she is bitter and can only hate jane. But MRS reed hates her because her own husband used to love baby jane more than his own children.MR REED when alive used to prefer and priviledge jane more than john, eliza or georgiana. Thus mrs reed can not forgive jane for this.As a mother one understand her but yet cannot like her her.MRS REED will always have a grudge against Jane.

Till her death MRS REED will dislike jane but the adult jane is appears heroic as she is able to forgive her tormentor.however MRS REED will always evoke painful memories to the adult JANE.
