Tommy James, star of Tommy James and the Shondells, releases a new revamped version of his class 70’s classic song, “Draggin’ The Line (2020 Version)” in a new remake. On the track, James enlists the talents of Emmy Award-winning rapper T.O.N.E-z and the iconic guitar legend Steven van Zandt from Bruce Springsteen’s E-Street Band.

Why remake his classic hit song? Tommy says, “I'd been thinking about a remake of "Draggin' The Line" for a long time and felt that a street version might be perfect.” Enlisting VanZandt was as no problem. All James had to do was “call in…a fantastic friend, Stevie Van Zandt, to record the guitar solo.”

The new version is hip-hop-infused “Draggin’ The Line -2020 Version” and can be found on Jame’s first new album in ten years titled Alive, which charted #10 on Billboard’s Independent Chart. His superstardom began in Pittsburg years ago, but James continues to thrive. He can be heard weekly on his SiriusXM 60s on 6 satellite radio show, and can be seen live touring the US playing sold out shows every year.
