End of Chapter 6
***Alice’s POV***
"This hasn't happened yet." I reminded myself over and over again as we stood against one of the outside walls and watched as my family was attacked.
I looked around the room, which was more of a corridor..a central area then a room. It was the place where five different walkways came together. I realized that this was almost like a set up, that we had been led to the perfect place for an ambush. I was going to say something about it when I felt..sensed that Tallulah was trying to show me something.
"Alice!" She said, excitement in her voice. "That way!!"
I looked in the direction she was showing me and saw that it was the only one without any movement. I wanted to explore that tunnel more, wanted to wait to see if anyone was coming out of it but Tallulah was getting anxious and wanted to get moving..and so did I. I just hoped and prayed that this wasn't a trap.
Chapter 7
***Alice’s POV***
As I went to open my eyes I heard footsteps running, lots of footsteps, coming from every direction..and all heading directly to where we were all standing. My entire family was watching me, waiting to find out what I had seen, I looked around and noticed that Tallulah was staring directly at me, I’m not sure but I think she knew what I was thinking and gave me a sharp nod.
“Girls?” Carlisle asked as he looked at both of us.
“That way.” I said as I pointed down a dark tunnel. “It’s our only way.”
No one hesitated, we all instantly took up the same ranks we had when we left the meeting room, except that Jasper was running next to me, his hand wrapped in mine..as if he were afraid to let go. I smiled at him as we ran directly behind Edward and Bella, who was obviously terrified by this whole thing, and her exhaustion was not helping her keep up, Edward was more or less carrying her as they ran into the darkness.
“Alice,” Edward’s voice echoed in my head. “Alice what’s going on?”
“This is the only way out, every other way..” I thought as I mentally shivered, knowing that Edward was seeing the same things I had seen.
“Can we trust her?” He wondered.
“I don’t know, but this is the only way out..every other senario ended even worse…I’m not sure but I think we’re safe.” I said, knowing he knew exactly how unsure of all this I was.
“It could be a trap.” He thought as I rolled my eyes at him.
“You’re the one who can listen to her…” I thought as we picked up the pace, our legs moving just a bit faster then they had been a few minutes ago.
“What did you see?” Jasper asked as he squeezed my hand. I knew he wasn’t being nosey, he was just trying to figure out what had me feeling as anxious and nervous as I was at that moment.
“We had to get out of there,” I said as I turned and smiled at him. “This is the only way, she helped me find the only path that would lead us out.”
“Or she showed you the path directly into their hands.” Jasper said softly as we continued running into the unknown.
