Chapter 7: Forbidden Farewells
Gunther treaded through his kitchen and lazily poured himself some orange juice. He pressed the cup to his face, and took a drink. When he took it from his face he was met with a pair of onyx eyes. "Gunther" "Aaaahhh!!!!!!" he fell backward and let the full cup fall on the floor. " oh, Kick... Hi." Kick looked past the scare and began talking "Gunther, I need some help." Gunther sat at the dining table "I tried to tell HER how I felt, but instead I just told her my battery was low, I sounded like an idiot." "Uh huh, so how does that make you feel?" " I just told you!" he practically screamed. "huh? Oh, hi, I was busy thinking." You were what!?" he started to get fed up. "I was what?" he questioned seriously. Kick looked at him blankly, turned, and left. He was ready to strangle someone.
Kick sat on the sidewalk, in the downpour. Not really caring if he was soaked to the bone, that didn't matter. He watched his reflection in the puddle at his feet. With each raindrop there was a corresponding ripple. His clothes sagged with dampness, he felt his soul literally crush. It was like nothing he had ever felt, that and love . "Love" he iterated, disgusted. What a wicked word, it lied, bargained, cheated, crushed, collided. "Wicked" he just shook his head. He looked back at his reflection. He could have sworn he saw her face behind him. He whipped around, just to find that it was him, and only him. "I'm going insane!" he gripped his helmet with one hand, eyes wide.
The insanity continued through the night.
Jessica's phone rang "hey, Jess I gotta call from one of my old friends, she wants me to go do some stunts with her." "her?" she practically choked. "yeah, Scarlet!" it hurt that he was so excited. "h-how long will you be gone?" "six months, not that long, right?" "not at all..." " could you take care of Gunther for me?" she let the thought of life without Kick simmer in the back of her mind. "no problem." "I promise I will write daily. I won't forget you guys." "I'm gonna miss you..." Kick paused for a minute. "bye." she was devastated. She rested her head in her palms and sobbed a little.

"No problem, Wade." Kick said.
"I'M GONNA GO GET ICECREAM!" Gunther yelled. He tripped on to the ground.
"Kick, I think I twisted my ankle."
"Can you walk on it?"
"No," Gunther limped home, with Kick helping him.
"I'm really sorry this happened to you, buddy. Just try to look where you're going. Ya know what I mean?"
"Yeah, Kick. I understand...... sigh."
"Well, I'll see you tomorrow, Gunther. I heard more Cheetah Chug arrived at Food'n'Fix. Why don't we stop by tommorrow?"
"Yeah, okay." Gunther replied.
Gunther thought in his mind " More Cheetah Chug? AWESOME!!! I can't wait to get some Cheetah Chug tonight!.......... Well... Hopefully..."
"No problem, Wade." Kick said.

"Yeah, okay." Gunther replied.
Gunther thought in his mind " More Cheetah Chug? AWESOME!!! I can't wait to get some Cheetah Chug tonight!.......... Well... Hopefully..."
Gunther thought it looked creepy outside, which made him rather stay in the hotel until morning.
"Kick, I don't wanna go out there. It looks creepy." Kick just ignored him and dragged him outside.
"If you ever want to see your parents again, we have to go now. We stayed here too long."
"Fine....... I just know something bad's going to happen....." Gunther mumbled timidly.
"Can we-"
"Gunther, I knew you were gonna say that, so I brought doughnuts."
"WOOHOO!" Gunther started stuffing his face. Kick had a doughnut. After walking a few miles they set up a tent and went to sleep.
"Kick, I don't wanna go out there. It looks creepy." Kick just ignored him and dragged him outside.
"If you ever want to see your parents again, we have to go now. We stayed here too long."
"Fine....... I just know something bad's going to happen....." Gunther mumbled timidly.
"Can we-"
"Gunther, I knew you were gonna say that, so I brought doughnuts."
"WOOHOO!" Gunther started stuffing his face. Kick had a doughnut. After walking a few miles they set up a tent and went to sleep.
Kick and Gunther were in the car with Brianna and Brad, on their way to a campsite surrounded by the wilderness.
"Just a few more hours, kids!" Denise said, excited. Kick sighed, not that excited about where they were going.
Gunther patted Kick on the back. "What's wrong, Kick?"
"Remember last time?...... It's just........ I don't want to go through all that again. Plus, you almost died and you don't want that to happen, right?"
"Of cour-"
"This time stay away from high up ledges, okay?"
"Sure." Gunther was a little worried now. What IF something happened to himself or Kick? Gunther knew he would have to be more careful than usual. For some strange reason, it seemed liked going on a road trip wasn't the only thing Kick was stressed out about. He wanted to know more.
"Hold on guys. We're almost there. We have to stop for gas." Harry said with a booming voice.
"Just a few more hours, kids!" Denise said, excited. Kick sighed, not that excited about where they were going.
Gunther patted Kick on the back. "What's wrong, Kick?"

He just layed there with Kick in the tent the whole day, until something occurred to him.
"I know! I'll get Cheetah Chug XE!"
Making sure he had money, he darted off to a nearby store and immediately came back with some Cheetah Chug XE. After he made Kick drink some, he was astonished.
Gunther couldn't believe what he was seeing.
