Sir Knuckles the Echidna is a Mobian Echidna and the last in a line of Guardians of Angel Island. From the age of three, Knuckles was trained by his father Locke to assume the mantle of Guardian by the age of 10. Within the last few years, Knuckles has discovered that he is not the last of his kind, and that threats from all over Mobius are threatening his home. While originally operating alone, Knuckles has developed friends and teammates-formed into a group known as the Chaotix, which he leads-over time to assist him with his role of protecting the Floating Island. He has also taken it upon himself to assist those on the surface of Mobius in fighting the forces of Dr. Eggman, most prominently the Knothole Freedom Fighters under Sonic the Hedgehog. Knuckles is the last Guardian protecting Angel Island, all other members of the Brotherhood of Guardians having perished or otherwise left incapable of carrying out their duties. He also considers himself responsible for all the Echidna people on Mobius.
As a baby, Kneecaps doesn't have a very developed personality. He is very energetic and positive, particularly if either of his parents or Knuckles is around. Because of his affection for his family, he can get very depressed when one of them is sad or not reacting to him. He is also terrified by massive displays of power, as seen when he saw Super Knuckles power up and when he saw Enerjak appear in the Echidna village on Angel Island
Because of his youth, he is unable to speak, his dialouge consisting entirely of pictures to give an idea as to what he is at least thinking. Through those, it was shown that he does not like his name, had evil thoughts to those who made fun of his name, shows signs of boredom, and could recognize Sonic and Knuckles when they arrived to deal with Hunter.

Lara-Su is Knuckles's and Julie-Su's daughter from the future timeline known as Mobius: X Years Later. She was initially at odds with her father, who refused to allow her to become a Guardian. Eventually, he relented however, only for that future to be warped almost beyond recognition by an alteration of history from King Sonic. Lara-Su and a few others recalled the rightful timeline, and together fought the despotic King Shadow, Lara-Su herself ended the fight by imprisoning him with Chaos Control. Serving as a Guardian for five years, she also became a member of the Future Freedom Fighters when Shadow returned.
According to the alternate future of Mobius: 25 Years Later, Locke died at a rather young age given Guardian longevity, having apparently developed cancer (possibly due to his experiments in radiation). Lara-Le and Knuckles visited him as he lay dying, and he confessed that he had realized the errors he had made during his life. He professed undying love for both of them, and told Knuckles how he regretted putting duty ahead of being a father. He died in his sleep in the middle of the night on the sixty-first day of the Mobian year 3246. Three days later, he was buried in a small, private ceremony, and as a result never met Lara-Su in that timeline. After Lara-Su's unveiling, Knuckles visited his grave, and came to realize that in denying his daughter the choice of becoming a Guardian, he was making the same mistake Locke had made with him. As Knuckles admitted his error, Locke was looking down on him in the company of Aurora, the goddess figure of Mobius.
Lara-Su's name is combination of the first name of her grandmother, and the last name of her mother (Lara-Le, Julie-Su) .
The glasses in Lara-Su's design were inspired by fan Noele Carballo.
Lara-Su's braid on the left side of her hair may be an homage to her mother's previous sole cybernetic dreadlock, which has since been either removed or restored, as she now has normal dreadlocks like any Echidna. The braid could also be an homage to her grandmother, Lara-Le, who once had a left-sided braid early on in the comics.
A version of Lara-Su appeared first in Sonic the Hedgehog #106 — #109. This was stated to be a different reality from that of Mobius: 25 Years later by writers Ken Penders and Ian Flynn.
Even though this is a "possible future" and is subject to changes within the timeline, Lara-Su currently stands as the second female member of the Brotherhood of Guardians in history, behind her great-great-great-grandmother, Janelle-Li.

Vector's son, Argyle, may have been interested in Lara-Su in the unaltered timeline judging by how he wished to dance with her at her Unveiling, and Lara seemed to also be interested in him in both timelines judging by how she was happy to dance with him and in the alternate timeline called him her "good friend" and was shown to be quite comfortable being in close contact with him. She also showed a hint of jealousy when Belle D'Coolette began to flirt with him. (SU: #7)
While Lara hasn't shown any romantic interest in anyone else herself, she was the object of a crush from Prince Manik in the unaltered timeline. It is also possible that Skye Prower has a crush on her as well, as he seemed a little nervous (even more than usual) around her. Jacques D'Coolette was also quite charming to her in their first encounter, though it is possible that this is simply the result of his gentlemanly

Locke is a strong parent who cares about his son, but firmly believes that his affiliation with the Brotherhood and Knuckles' duty matters more than his family, or even the possibilty of his son's happiness. This has led him to clash on more than one occasion with Knuckles, and Locke has also had choice words with his ex-wife. She has since found another husband, and with him is raising a new family that Knuckles is considered a part of, while Locke isn't. Locke's single-mindedness and secrecy make any relationships difficult.
Knecapeon Mace, affectionately known as "Kneecaps the Echidna", is the son of Lara-Le and Wynmacher and half-brother to Knuckles the Echidna. A rather energetic infant, he is extremely attached to his parents and fond of his brother Knuckles, whom he enjoys hitting on the head with a rattle. He was born some time during Knuckles' powerless year in Knothole, his conception having been revealed to Knuckles some time before his temporary death. Kneecaps remained with his parents as they stayed with the Dark Legion as the Angel Island resistance to Doctor Eggman's regime, then in the village built by the survivors of Echidnaopolis, followed by his transportation to the ruins of Albion, which were then rebuilt to serve as a new homeland for the Echidna race (excluding those members of the Dark Legion who were appalled at the loss of their cybernetic implants.)
