Jamie sent her crew out on orders as she sensed trouble moving in. Of course she went out to meet it alone. The place was peaceful with trees and a deep and stream that bubbled playfully. Hell she could hear the bees a couple of trees back and saw a fine patch of flowering clover just ripe to pick for either making wine or medicine The only problem was that at its back was a cliff face. A most perfect place to corner your prey. She made her hair shorten as she tied a handkerchief over it. As she smelled the horses coming closer, her basket was out on her arm and as she bent down to pluck a clover they came hard and determined. Leaving her buried more then half in the dirt but in her hand the tassel of the lead horse. Thief watched the destruction of the girl with horror, but a horror that bound her to the tree that she'd been after the honey in. After they were gone she eased down and slicked out her knife to cut whatever valuables the corpse might have had free. Her feet were to the girls trampled hair when suddenly the hair came alive and raised itself up and pulled the girl's body up from its make shift grave. The girl hung there for a moment before spiting out gobs of dirt rock and worms. Thief backed away and then turned to run but was captured by a few of the girl's strands of hair and pulled up to the corpses face. Thief couldn't help herself from fighting even then. "Will you stop struggling! This is hard enough to do with me so hurt! Plus if I wanted to hurt...no kill you I'd have informed those bastards to your whereabouts." Thief stilled. Her nose twitching. Jamie sighed. "I was going to ask for your help....but you can go."
The hair eased Thief down, while Jamie allowed her hair to settle her beaten body into the deepest part of the stream. Jamie winced all the way as the cold hit all the right spots. As she was cared for a cough brought her attention to in front of her.
The boy was standing on a rock in front of her.
"D...don't you want me to help?" The boy stuttered. Jamie snorted and winced as parts of her were starting to heal. "Didn't think you were going to." The boy looked at his toes. "I....I was going to rob your body. I'm sorry." Jamie laughed between gritted teeth, then she panted. "At least you're honest. My brother cursed me to live forever, he didn't say it wouldn't hurt." She chuckled and winced, this time the boy saw and heard the bones correct themselves as he waded to her. "My...my names Thief. How do I help?" Jamie and Rabbit. Who had turned out not to be a boy but a girl. Rode on the back of a hair made and still connected Pegasus. "Rabbit...Rabbit..." The girl blinked up at her till she realized that it was her new name. "Y...yes Jamie?" Jamie held her tightly. "When we touch down where ever we land do not leave me. I'm still healing and I'm not sure if I'm going to be conscious when we land."
The Pegasus landed with an unconscious Jamie being held up by a stick looking child. Tsuni rushed out from the guest house as they landed.
"What is wrong with my lady?" The scared child only clung to LadyJamie tighter.
"Oh my look at that! What an amazing creature." High Lord General Izuni said as he noticed the flying auburn horse while taking tea with his host Lord Byakuya Kuchiki. Byakuya's eyes looked to the sky, his stomach turned and he nearly lost hold of his tea cup. Jamie was in trouble. "Excuse me my Lord General, but I must attend to my other responsibility." He then got to his feet and bowed as he hurried towards the garden guest house.
Tsuni had reached out to the 2 girls. Only to have the horse rear up in front of the maid's eyes and then absorbed the two where they sat. Making the maid faint. As the Pegasus adjusted itself to the sudden weight,it nuzzled the maid's neck feeling the healthy pulse it trotted down to the river nearby.
Byakuya and the general watched the winged horse kick playfully and drink in the water. "Over there my lord. There's a body on the ground."
Byakuya's eyes went to the guest house and found Jamies one allowed servant there. Her head raised up and looked to the horse and fainted again. No sign of Jamie....the horse was a red head....Jamie. Jamie was inside the horse. The thought unsettled him. The general's hands fisted. "My daughter is a supreme breaker of horses. This one is surely a prize meant to be given to her by your excellency. The foals will be worth no small fortune. Where ever did you find such a rare breed?" Byakuya thought. 'Yes, she is a rare breed. His mind went to the growing number of times his thoughts tortured him by thinking of her in his bed. His mate. His hands bunched into fists and punched the dirt in front of him. "You are angry with the horse getting loose, that is understandable. but my daughter is not outside at the moment. So there is no harm done. Now let us agree on a date and we can seal the deal."
Byakuya snorted. "What deal? You invaded my home which could have been seen as an act of war, had I wished to see it as such. If I had, your head would be gracing my court yard as a warning. While your family would have become slaves to be sold for your misunderstanding." The High General suddenly stood up and spooked the pegesus from its rolling spot in the grass. Jamie suddenly stood on the defensive in front of a young child. Her eyes squinting as they strengthened in sight. Rabbit clung to her back, trembling and whimpering. Jamie stilled and stiffened at the scent on the wind. " High General I do believe you have some explaining to do. You as well my host Lord Kuchiki. You do not want to anger me when I am still trying to forge a treaty amongst the reapers and the mages. My pen may demand more then the reapers wish to give." She threatened. Izuni held his breath at the sight of his dream in front of him. An actual Soul Smith. Alive young and strong. He walked away from his hiding spot to advance carefully to about 10 yards before kneeling to her. His head to the ground, his hands open and palms to the grass.
"Oh great lady of the forges heed my humble request. I am in need of your assistance." Jamie for a moment nearly went forward and then heard Rabbit whimper. "My boy you have done wrong not only to me but to my newest daughter." The general stilled. "Look up to me child." Jamie sneered. In her hand he saw one of....no. "I see you recognize the bell in my hand. Rabbit has told me it is the same one that took her parents away. If it was not you then one of your....ah." The answer lit her eyes. "You have a daughter, I've unfortunately met her. Greedy, self-centered, jealous and definitely lustful towards...hmm." Her look went to the young lord. " I told her she could have him as he has no interest in me nor I in him. We are merely collaborating on a treaty as I have said before." The general swallowed. "Then the missing have been found?" Jamie shook her head. " No not all of them. I fear there are two factions one who was merely following old rules while this other.....I'd rather not say till I have all the facts. I have set someone on their trail but it will take time and then the lengthy interrogation, we could use Kenpatchi. We could use him to make them piss themselves that is always of some interest. We could even bet on how long it takes him to do that. I'd probably say hmm.....up to a minute. You've met the spiky bell wearing hair styled captain what do you think general?" Byakuya coughed. Jamie snorted. Rabbit clung. A twang of an arrow leaving its bow made Jamie spring into action. Her dragon body coiled high and just far enough out to encircle the 4 of them. Her head snaked out and grabbed the offender between her cavern like stalagmite and stalactite teeth and gently shook the bow and quiver from them before reverting to her human form where the assassin bulldozed her to the ground rolling with her into the pond. Jamie had smelled the woman long before, but had not known who her target had been. It had been her father....no?...
Now with the scent so intimately close she sensed that there was none of the male scent that would have come from the general. Jamie hit the girl hard enough to crack bones and tare tissue as they fought under the water. When the woman refused to go unconscious Jamie had to expand her form once again. Her talon hooked the woman's clothing and tried to use her sleeping breath, but still the woman's body refused to obey. Jamie turned to the general who had become a man twisted by anger and tortured by his heart. "Izuni." Jamie said softly with understanding but shame for the man as well.
"I love her. But I am getting old and I can no longer keep her under control. She...she....You are her only hope. You are a Soul Smith of the True Flame. Your life can forever sustain her, she will never need to feed on the other Elementals again. Please great lady, she is all I have that matters to me." Rabbit took out her dagger and ran at the man only to be caught by Byakuya.
"You killed them! You killed my mama and papa!"
Byakuya held the far too slender of a child in his arms. The dagger had fallen to the ground when he had merely put a hand on her shoulder.
"You killed her parents?" The general eyed the girl. "What would you have done to stop your wife from dying? Is not such low lives worthy of sacrificing for her? It should be an honor for them to give their lives. So weak, pathetically soft creatures happy to live in a hovel instead of taking the ruling class which they could have done so easily. But the one you hold and the Soul Smith are the last of the Elementals. Soon enough not even they will exist. Yes, very rare breeds. Indeed." Jamie looked at the young woman in her talons. "Did you know?" The woman laughed. "Of course I did. Who do you think sent them to crush you into the dirt. I hate you. He will barely speak, barely acknowledges me." The creature pointed at the young lord. Jamie sighed and sagged heavily. She hadn't even listened to the love in her husband's voice. "He is like that with everyone. Its just not you. Stop being so narcissist. And what about your husband?" The thing in her claw snorted and sneered. "Him? He's getting too old to be my husband. I need someone much more handsome and young. Someone with more promise then that aging bag of bones. Lord Kuchiki come and slay this beast and all I am is yours." The woman held open her arms towards the man she wanted. Byakuya felt the child in his arms still and begin to whisper too softly for him to hear. A bee lit on his shoulder. "Rabbit? Don't hurt him. He is just another victim." The bee teased the base of Byakuya's neck, floating down to Rabbit's palm. " You're not going to hurt Jamie are you?" Byakuya saw the child's all too adult seriousness reflected in her eyes. He frowned. "As long as she is my friend I will not harm her." Rabbit smiled and blew the bee from her palm and hugged him. The woman in Jamie's talons snarled. "See he declares himself your friend." Jamie blinked and then bit back. "Of course he would say that he's allergic to the bee's poison in its stinger. Now shut-up! Your husband says he still loves you. He's been up till now killing....no he's been capturing them and you've been....where did you get the spell general? I was always a too well read mage in my day. There is only one book you could have gotten such a spell from. Only one and that has been lost since the day my people were destroyed. 'Where general?" Izuni paled. "The now High King performed the first dose and then gave me maps to those she would later need to restore her. He said should I run across a flame haired Soul Smith their life force would destroy the curse and we could be like we used to." Jamie snickered. " Good joke. Always good for a laugh. He lied. Yes my life force could extend her life, but the truth of it is that she must become me. Her life must be connected to mine and that I will not agree to. And she has become too addicted to the rush of power flooding her system. How many do you have in stasis?" Jamie eyed the general. The general paled.
" None. She's drained all in storage. You and the child were the last hopes I had." Byakuya tightened his hold on the child in his arms to keep from killing the general himself. "Fine. You win." The general fainted at her stunning answer. The woman went limp, Byakuya and the child gasped, then Rabbit cried. "Come general let us depart and do what must be done to resolve this matter." At the gentle rumble of Jamies voice the man got up to his feet. Tears filled his eyes as he was assisted onto Jamies back. "Sorry I can't fly us out, but a slice through dimentions should be good enough for you." The general was given his wife to hold onto. Her face perplexed and joyful.
Jamie did not look back as her breath of diamond like sparks cut a gap in the air, large enough for them to go through. "Jamie! Jamie!" Byakuya yelled. "Fate is fate, what must be must be.Take care little man of my child." Then the gap closed.
Uryu and Keisuki waited in the lab in Hence Mundo. Mayuri was only there to watch. Jamie in her dragon form came through the portal with the 2 suspected problems. Keisuki had the two bodies ready and waiting on the tables both tied down while Uryu stood by with the soul threat and needle. "Oh please allow me to knock them out. Please." Keisuki frowned. " I don't like your methods. I never have." Jamie hissed. "I don't care. Do it Mayuri!" Mayuri smiled and hit both of the now fighting suspects in Jamie's talons with a powerful sedative. "Ewe gross! " Jamie shivered as the victims lost all bodily control. "You will be cleaning that up Clown face." Jamie tiptoed around the mess to lay the two souls into the empty shells. "Uryu?" Uryu nodded and drew the long silver needle out of its sheath and struck it into the general's new body. Using the general's own soul's thread to adhere it to the gigi. It took less then an hour to finish the general. While the girl's took more time as it was a mixture of many souls. When done Mayuri woke them with an adrenaline shot. Nemu came forward from the shadows with a robe for Jamie. "Thank-you Nemu. I've been abusing myself quite a lot today." Nemu blushed. "No it is I who must thank-you." Uryu was busy sewing the girl's spirit within the body but even he slightly reddened. Jamie giggled lightly. "I'm only too happy to see the two of you together." Mayuri snorted. Jamie handed him a thick portfolio. "That is only some of my so called medical history." Jamie then walked over to the tables. She put a hand on the general. The young man was a very good likeness to the youth the general had been. "You do a really good job Urahara. You gave him back his youth.....I am uncertain if this will work. The spell was complicated to begin with, I....I don't know if giving them new bodies with their soul's trapped inside the shells will be enough to break it." Her worried face was enough to have Urahara lay a hand on her shoulder. "Do you trust me?" Jamie looked into the man's eyes. Reading his very soul to its core. " She would not love you even 1/2 as much as she does if she couldn't trust you. I trust you as she trusts you." Urahara chuckled. "I don't know if that's an endorsement or an insult. But I'll take it as the first." Jamie smiled lightly. "I can clean their attics and give them what they had." Uryu narrowed his eyes at her. "Is that even possible?" Jamie smirked. "A 2nd chance is never a bad idea. Especially when you have youth and love on your side. Its worth everything." Mayuri hmmed. "What if it doesn't last? This love of theirs." Jamie laughed. "That is easy enough to fix." Jamie lit a finger and drew an unfinished design on each of the patients chests. "There that should ensure it. " Mayuri studied the design as it disappeared. "That's clever. When they wake they'll see the other 1/2 of the infinity sign on the other's chest. Without the other they will feel only 1/2 complete. Unfinished. A dream you have for yourself." Jamie slapped him as Uryu finished the girl. "Oh my your sensitive. I must have touched a nerve. I'll agree to Uryu and Nemu's relationship just on that." Jamie stalked away to the corner. "I can't return. I told him to raise her. If this does not work, I will bind her to me. From now till this has been tested they will be my responsibility." Uryu gasped. "You mean to take them to America." Jamie slipped back towards them. She nodded.
"Yes, it is the best place to start anew. My houses are strong there and with the new support from those Archers and Reapers who live there my back will be fully covered. No worries." She smiled. "You are will not breath one word of what has passed here. Distance is safer for all." Izuni woke strapped and naked to a table only remembering a hit that made him go out like a candle. Now he woke up like a shot from a slingshot. Yet with all the restraints all he could do was scream. Scream and hear a woman scream along with him. He turned his head and seen her. Her. Her. That's all he could think of, all he could put together at that moment and then she turned to him and his heart hit the bottom of his gut. The girl looked at the boy on the next table and felt her soul soar to new happy heights. A cough came from between the tables. A young girl blushed. "Excuse me. You have both suffered an accident of severe injury too major for normal hospitals. We are government specialists, with certain talents. To ensure that the procedure has taken we are moving you to a house to be taken care of. Now hold on a moment. You will be able to go to work, school or anything else, but you must live near by so if anything should go wrong with the surgeries we can quickly get you back on the table. Do you understand what I'm saying?" Izuni closed his eyes. He could remember parts of his life but not all of it. " I can't remember all of my past." Jamie nodded. "Yes you will have missing sections, you will in time remember them. But it is best to not press, it could do more harm then good. The both of you." The girl asked. "Who are you?" Jamie smiled. " I'm part of the experiment just like you. My name's Jamie. What's yours?" The girl blushed. "My name is Anichi." The boy sighed and softly breathed her name. which made the girl blush. "And you?" Jamie said to Izuni. "Oh ah uh....wait I know it. Oh yeah, Izuni….ah that's all I can remember at the moment." The girl blushed. "Izuni. That's a handsome name." Izuni blushed and then tried to move his arms. "Why are we still restrained ?" Jamie eased her hands onto the restraints. "Because they had to make sure you didn't move by accident and cause a bad end for either of you on the tables." As she said this Nemu moved a separation screen between them. "Wait! I don't want the screen to separate us! " Anichi cried out. The boy blushed. "It'll be alright. We shouldn't be so free seeing each other's parts."
"Do you mean I'm shameless?" Anichi questioned. Jamie winced and removed herself.
"I like your body. Its like an artists hands made you for me. I want to see it every day of my life." Anichi confessed. "Really? I've never seen it as such. I have moles and scars, to me its not pretty." Izuni said unbelieving. Jamie rolled her eyes. "Oh come on don't make this into a soap opera. Just get dressed we need to get going before we miss our flight." Anichi slipped on the perfect fitting clothes, liking how they followed every hollow of her body. She looked at Jamie. Flashes of memory popped here and there. "How are you apart of all of this?" Jamie blushed. "My parents are actually the doctors that agreed to do the surgeries. My talents are of binding, your souls were weakening. So I tethered your souls to your bodies." That made both of the patients still.
"So we owe you our very lives." Jamie nodded. "There is a catch. You won't age and I'm not sure if you'll be able to have kids because of it. Are you o.k. with that?" Izuni pushed back the screen and looked at Anichi."I swear to love you no matter what. Children or no children. Can you love me?" Anichi frowned and squeezed her eyes shut. "I want children.I do. I want your children Izuni and just yours. But if we can only have that by adopting then we will do that. But you are unsure if we are unable to have children." Jamie nodded. "There is always a price. Every price is different. You are not the first that I have helped."
Izuni eyed her. "So you won't always be with us?"
Jamie nodded again. "I'm only here for awhile to ensure that the procedure went well. Then on to another case." Jamie watched their reaction. They looked at each other, then reached for each other. "We're ready then. The three of us will always be friends." Anichi stated. "And we will always love each other." Izuni said kissing Anichi's forehead. Jamie giggled. " Well I hope not that way, but I'll definitely be your friend." Anichi laughed and hugged Jamie. "Where are we going?" Jamie walked the couple out of the room talking animatedly about America.
Abel bowed to the three of them as they came out of the secret hospital. "This is Abel our driver. He'll be taking us to the air port where we have my parents private jet waiting. " Izuni frowned. "Where are your parents? I'd like to thank them for saving our lives." Jamie pointed up at the closed curtains back at the building. "They need at least a day's sleep to revive themselves from the work they had to do to the both of you." Anichi nodded. "Not you?" Jamie smiled. "Me? I sleep on the plane. There's only so much t.v. and games you can watch and play in more then a 16 hour flight. Don't worry we get an in air fill up. Food is no problem we have a full foodie bar. From fruit to meat. We have any kind of drink except alcohol. Sweats by the tons, probably why I don't sleep that much. But come on my parents won't sleep well until they hear we're airborne." The 3 got in and were airborne within 20 minutes.
