I'm really saddened as to how people or even so, Little Monsters are very unappreciative of GaGa's new song "Born This Way". Some expected too much of the song & got disappointed because they thought that the song has already been done before. Some even thought that it is a total rip-off of Madonna's "Express Yourself". I've been obsessing with Madonna lately & I don't really think that Born This Way is just a duplicate of 'Express Yourself'. Both of the songs are AUTHENTIC & FIERCE in their own way. Rather than hate, appreciate. Remember that the song was only written by GaGa herself without any help. It was meant only for us, for the outcasts that are bullied, teased, or cast aside from the community. She wrote the song on her own to show how she really loves her Little Monsters.
As for me, I really loved the song because I can feel the liberation process being done as I listen throughout the song. I'm a total freak. People bully me here for being myself & because of being myself, they consider it as a 'provocation' to them since people here are trying their best to fit in but I'm doing my own thing. Think how hard it is for me. I'm a Filipino & there are only a handful of Little Monsters throughout the country. As from what I've witnessed, People here hate Lady GaGa. They think she's just an attention whore & a Madonna wannabe. They think she's a devil worshiper because of the internet rumors (Yeah, people here can be REALLY shallow). Imagine how hard it is to be the only 1 who defends her while all the others are opposing. I don't have that lot of friends & most of the time, I'm cornered in the state of solitude, depression & grief. This song made me cry today because I just realized that this is not just an anthem of liberation, but also a connection between GaGa & myself. That being said, I thought "I'M NOT ALONE IN THIS WORLD. I HAVE GAGA & THE REST OF MY LITTLE FREAKISH MONSTER FAMILY WHO ALSO YEARN TO HAVE A PLACE WHERE THEY CAN BE THEMSELVES". This song makes you dream of paradise where you can do anything you want or be whoever you want. Hence, the gleeful melody of the song. This may seem like an exaggerated perspective to all of you but truth be told, I'm just expressing my inner insights. How I really feel about this song. An opposition rant to those people who detest this song for being a Madonna rip-off, or as what they said. Try really hard on feeling the essence of the song. Take a very deep thought & analyze the happy melody + inspirational lyrics + GaGa's powerful vocals in the song. Maybe you'll reconsider your thoughts about the song.
