aholic It's for americans. It's different from where you come from. Of course the vocabulary sounds weird for you because you're a native speaker.
officemonkey It shouldn't be different. And even native speakers do of course have different accents (which sometimes makes them hard to understand) but I think for learning a language it's important to learn it right with as little accent as possible. But well - this might not be the right place for really learning a language and it's certainly not the place for long discussions about it, so: OK. ;)
