If mew had a gender,would it be better as a boy or girl?

if mewtwo is a boy so is mew remember mewtwo is a clone of mew in other words mewtwo is the same gender as mew.

I think Mew would be better off as a girl because in Mewtwo Strikes Back,she had a fight with Mewtwo and the voice of Mew definetly sounded likea female.

mewtwo was based on mews genes and mewtwo has a boy's voice, so therefore mew is probably better off as a boy

This has been bugging me for quite some time. I have played the ORIGINAL Pokemon games, Red AND Blue, respectively. Mew is mentioned in there. In the Cinnabar Mansion, there are documents on the tables. Reading them clearly states the discovery of a New Species of Pokemon. Mew. If you read them all, one will clearly state that Mew GAVE BIRTH to a NEW POKEMON. They named it Mewtwo. Henceforth, Mewtwo is the Child of Mew, not a clone, and Mew is FEMALE. Glad I could clear that up.

The game came before the movie, and in Red/Blue/Green it says Mew gave birth to Mewtwo, so I'm assuming it's a female. :|
But they changed the story in the movie and so without it saying Mew gave birth to Mewtwo, Mew could be seen as male.

But I will always say that Mew is a female because the games are more canon to me than the anime.

I think Mew is a girl, She's very girly & cute. plus in the original games in Cinnibar Mansion it was said that Mew GAVE BIRTH to Mewtwo. So yeah, Mew is a GIRL.

Both mew and mewtwo do not have a gender . If u look up their gender they will be identify as genderless . Most legendary / mystical pokemon are know to be genderless which in few case like latios and latias who are both legendary but have genders .

But by some miracle it is not then a girl because it is pink, it's behavior is better suited as a girl, plus it's voice sounds closer to a girl. the reason I said a girl in the game is because in yellow when your reading the journals in the burned mansion it said mew gave BIRTH.

2.Mew is a small little pink Pokemon while Mewtwo is dark purple with light purple

3.And last but not least,Mew is all tiny and helpless while on the hand Mewtwo is giant and very powerful.

There is more then one Mew so all of them could have different genders, i mean if they only had one gender how would they reproduce?

Very few people who answered this question know anything about DNA it seems. o_0 Sorry anime fan girls who ship Mew with Mewtwo in their Fanfiction, but Mew is a guy because Mewtwo is a guy. Mew and Mewtwo have to be the same gender, because Mewtwo was made with DNA from Mew. If Mewtwo had actually been born, then it could've been a guy or girl. However, since there was only one DNA and not two DNA from a guy and girl after having sex, Mewtwo would have to be whatever gender Mew is. I hope I explained that well enough, it's kind of complicated. As for the arguments that Mew is a girl, because it's pink, small and sounds feminine, I've seen guys that wear pink, guys that are small and disturbingly enough I've even met some guys with really high voices. Anybody who ships Mew and Mewtwo is shipping a homosexual couple, just so you know.

For Mew: it is the only other pokemon to know transform like Ditto, who can take on either gender for breed if need be. There's no reason why mew would have only one gender when it can become either anyways.
For Mewtwo: It's DNA was messed with, if DNA was added from and another pokemon or heck a human as some say, it would most likely show traits from there gender. If any DNA was removed or missing and that DNA had Traits of male or female, then Mewtwo would show more of the other gender.

Side Notes: It's Pink, so a girl. Nope, may pokemon are pink and are both male and female.
It's Strong and Angry, so boy. Also nope, may pokemon look Strong, Angry, mad or Mean and still are both male and Female.
In "Blank", one of them sounded Male or Female. Still nope, Mew rarely "Talks" as it, but voiced by a female to sound cute, Pikachus are male and female, but mostly use a female voice actress to sound cute. Mewtwo has had Male and Female voices, and in Detective Pikachu mewtwo had a male and female voice actors at the same time so not to sound too male or female. Sorry to say, voice means nothing for this.

if Mew gave birth then why Mewtwo is Mewtwo? it supposed to be the same look as mew and if Mew is female then it would reproduce and not the only Mew in the pokemon universe so i gonna vote that its a male.
