One of my favorite episodes this season, by far. Last weeks episode I nearly died trying to keep up with my notes, and this one was a breeze. The 'A case' was interesting (something seemingly rare this season) and as was the 'B case'.
In short; I was impressed.

We begin with a Christmasy scene, and a crowd of people. Now since I live in Canada, I have no idea what Black Friday is except a suicide mission. People die trying to get into a store, for crying out loud...just walk into one any other day. Why go when theres thousands of people?!?!
Back to the case. A child slips on some ice, and her dad freaks out, and voila. We are left with the Mob effect.
"Did Calculus get harder since we took it?" "That's what I said!" It's nice to watch a TV character doing math homework. It's a good excuse to not do my own math homework. (Not like I have any)
But don't you just love Cal's apron?? It reminds me of V for Vendetta...if you've seen that movie, then you won't make me sound like a crazy person by saying that. Anyways, Gillian's there...which is ackward, and this kid, 'Max' (for now) found Cal and wants his help. 'Max' thinks that he's 'James Knox' a kid who was abducted as a baby, and he's got the 'scar to prove it'. "We've all got scars, you wanna see mine?"...yes.
Max offers Cal 500 bucks to tak his case...and Cal does. (Well they need the money) "You wanna sandwich?"
Cal sets Max up with his parents and Max interrogates them, Cal and Gillian watching. They find fear when Max mentiones DNA and such. They admit that they took him from a pregnant teenage mother with no papers or anything.
--
Back to Loker and Ria, you can consider them a team now because this is practically their 4th, or more, case together...so they're going to be stuck with the same screentime. Anyways, Loker wants to find the 'spark in the powder keg' about the stampede as it pays with alot of zero's. Cal tells them to take it and "We need the money."
(Do you notice how he lies to his colleuges? He told the truth about needing the money...but he didn't tell them that he didn't want this particular pay day...it was all a test).
--
Now Cal and Gillian are talking to the 'pregnant teen' Chyeanne Matson, but quickly find out that she isnt the mom. She's just pretending to be. (Who would do that? Oh right...a person high on Meth).
Emily's connecting with Max, and it's a cute little scene, "From one freak to another." Now, Emily's not the freak, it's her parents. So that quote really rules itself out...anyways.
--
Back on Loker and Ria's case, they're interrogating a man who is literally covering his gonads. I nearly died laughing at the ol' WW2 refrence with Stalin, Churchill and such. I just learned about the aftermath of WW2 today in History. It's great how my day ties together like this. =D
--
Cal is, once again, spying on Emily and her talking to Max, and once he and Gillian tell her that they found his biological parents she runs off "Thanks for that." "For lying to Emily?" "Ya. So I wouldn't have to."...Gillian lied to Emily for Cal...interesting.
Now Emily's got Max back rather fast...surprising. But Cal's got her mad at Gillian for lying to her. Why is Gillian willing to take the blame for Cal? (It's the accent....It's ALWAYS the accent.)
And now they've found the parole officer of the guy named 'Romeo' who was the drug dealer...wow this is complicated.
--
Now with the stampede, Loker finds the spark, "The video does not lie."
--
Cal and Gillian's case...they find the dad...and Cal's sympathetic. He knows it's not what the son was expecting.
--
Once Cal meets with Loker and Ria, he wants them to celebrate for getting the case...thus far. Of course Loker takes it, I mean Cal's paying for supper! But Ria won't bite. She know's there's more to it than just one nervous dad, why did the kid fall in the first place? Well ice of course! (Living in Canada, thats one thing I'm VERY familliar with.)
--
Cal scares the crap out of another kid/wakes him up, "You wanna meet your Father?"
..."Your name is Owen." Of course, now Owen (his proper name) is in denial. "You be careful son." Once Owen storms out of the room Cal begins pushing some buttons. He startes pissing him off, and pushing him down. It seems like the start of another fight...but Owen ends up crying in Cal's shoulders??!?! How...did...he...do that??!!
--
Loker and Ria present their findings to the store owners...and they pay them 1.8 Million. But Loker keeps going. He presents MORE findings, about their ice keeping skills, and how they will decline the money and ask for the truth. They get neither. And Cal is proud of him! The test was NOT to take the money. Sure they needed it, but they look for the truth here, not the most zeros in a check.
It's not about the money....
o.o

Cal, Gillian and Emily return Owne to his real family, and alls well that ends well.
"Hell of a rabbit hole." "We made it."
You sure did.

Great episode, no? The charcters were great tonight, acting superb, most everyone was in this episode, and screentime was divided evenly...excepy for Reyonalds. So let's start with him?
If you've read this far, then you will notice that I completley skipped over Reyonalds short, and laugh out loud story line. Apparently he was on his vacation, and Cal hacked into his account first by spying on him, then accessing files...when Reyonalds wasn't even in the same state. ("Your dad's committing a felony.") Naturally Reyonalds vacation is cut short and he comes back to Cal...and Cal blames Loker.
Hah.
This brings us to the one and only Loker...along with Ria. They were in the exact same scenes, and did the exact same thing they do every episode. Watched tapes and solved the case...that Lightman rigged for them.
When will they ever learn?
Gillain? Well she took quite a few burns this week, one from Emily, and one from the 'dad' about "Get a kid of your own." She HAD one, so that hit her deep...but she didn't react to it that much, so...I guess we're just gonig to fly over her emotions for a bit. (Personally, I'd like to see more of how her divorce went...sure she's happy about it...but.....that's it?) Normally situations like this would drag out for episodes upon episodes...but this one ended in just one. Somethings up about that.
Cal? Well first off, he just looked AMAZING. I almost fell off my stool in a scene, it cut to Cal, I looked up from my paper, and I swear, I blacked out from the hotness that was smiling on screen. Sorry...that was too much information...but he looked great.
His relationship with Emily is quite the interesting one to observe, they're both accepting of eachother, but the fact that Cal didn't want to lie to her in front of her face anymore really says something. He wants to keep their relationship safe, and dosen't want his case to effect their personal life as father and daughter...so it's nice to see he really cares.
Thoughs?
