Foster was help captive, then is drowned in a lake or a pool. Lightman saves her life by giving her CPR.
Later that night, LIghtman and his daughter are about to eat dinner.
And Foster shows up.
Lightman answers door,
" Hey, um I just wanted to drop off this case file." Foster says.
Lightman gives her a funny look, and takes the file.
"Hey do you want to come in for a moment?" Lightman ask Foster.
"Um it looks like you are about to eat" Foster says observing Lightman's daughter setting the table.
"Yea that's okay, you can eat with us."
Foster pauses for a moment, and says okay.
The three of them have a good dinner, have tons of laughs, and enjoys the rest of the night playing bored games, and watching a movie. Then it's past eleven and Lightman's daughter announces that she is going to bed.
They then show Lightman and Foster standing, and Foster says that she has to go.
"You didn't come here just to drop off the file did you?" Lightman says to Foster as she starts walking to the door.
"No" Foster finally says.
" I came here to say thank you." She also says.
"For what?" Lightman asks.
"For saving my life earlier today. They said that you were the one who jumped in the water to save me, and well gave me CPR."
Says Foster.
Lightman just nods and steps closer to Foster.
"And well", Foster continues, " I just admire how you always have my back. And yea so-"
Lightman puts his finger on Foster mouth, and silently says,
" shhhhh".
Then they both start to kiss.
After just standing there kissing for a few moments, Foster suddenly stops.
"I-i have to go. See you tomorrow." Says Foster and leaves.
Lightman just stands there, and then smiles.
The next day, later in the after noon, Foster enters Lightman's office.
" Hey, here's that paper work you wanted." Foster says.
"Oh thanks." Says lightman, and then stares at Foster, who is still standing in front of his desk.
"What?" Ask foster.
" Anything els?" Lightman asks.
"Yea, I uh just wanted to say that I had fun last night. " Says Foster.
"Even before you left?" Lightman carefully asks.
Foster smiles, " Yea even then. And I just know that I needed the fun, and even that kiss. It made me feel better."
Lightman just nods, and Foster starts to leave.
" Foster." Lightman says.
"Yea?" Foster turns around.
"You know I care about you, right?"
Foster pauses for a moment, then smiles.
"Yea I do. Night." Foster then leaves.
Then Lightman gets up and starts getting ready to leave, when Foster comes back in.
Lightman is surprised, and Foster goes over to lightman, and they start to kiss.
And from then they both know how much they love each other.

I am loving Lie To Me even more!
This is a show you got to watch! ( TELL UR FRIENDS)
In the season finale (season 3) " Killers App " You see not even more growing between Cal and Gillian, but what most fans say,
"Best episode ever!" " FOX we need more!"
"When does season 4 start?!"
I'm demanding more as well. And as Lie To Me grows stronger and stronger, hitting more than 7 million views, fans are also demanding the writers to show more of what's between Cal and Gillian.
Until season 4 starts, I will enjoy reruns!

Every television critic I know is making both end-of-year and end-of-decade lists. Although we have many different takes on what happened this year and in the last 10, there does seem to be one consistency: We each make what amounts to an improbable list. This is mine.

"Fran here - I will not bother putting the whole list in ...just this bit"

Tim Roth, "Lie to Me," Fox. It's easy to give network programming - even the finest of it - less attention and affection in the face of so much impressive work on the cable side. But Roth's combination of smarts, aggression and compassion has not only elevated this procedural drama, but also proved he deserves the Emmy attention that has previously (and deservedly) gone to Hugh Laurie on "House."

Well it happened, Fox has let go another great show.
As of May 10, 2011, Fox announced they have canceled: Lie To Me, Human Target, and The Chicago Code.
In season one, LTM had 11.06 million views.
Then lost some in season two, dropping to 7.39 million views.
Sadly, it dropped some more for season three.
Falling down to only 5.84 views, there was no hope for LTM.
Still, every fan is devastated. And already people are hopping some other broadcasting television show will buy LTM.
Also....
Human Targets Viewing:
Season one: Started with 10.12 million views, then the end of the first season, it had dropped to 8.23 million views.
Season two: Only made 6.59 million views.
Sorry, no ratings on The Chicago Code.
It's sad to see LTM leave, please someone! BUY LTM!

Sounds to me like there will be ALOT to deal with this season.
Personally, I think that they should have left these kind of 'typical' teenage issues out of Emily's character and out of the SHOW...but I guess we'll have to see how it plays out.
I mean, Cal is a protective father, now just imagine him discovering this from his daughter...O.o
He's going to beat himelf up about it, and (Dare I say it) even HER if this goes to far. But THAT situation ever unfolding is FAR beyond Cal's character.

Think these are the moments Cal's talking about? (Tim Roth--Murder in the Heartland)
