Note: This review is dedicated to Dr. Seuss.
The Lorax is a 2012 animated film that was made by the people that made Despicable Me.
The film has 2 plots: 1 plot takes place in the past. That storyline is about the Once-ler, a human who wanted to use trees to make a product to sell. He tries to not hurt the trees to avoid angering the Lorax, but the Once-ler's mom gets him to ruin the forest. The other plot is about Ted, a human boy who wants to save trees, but the Mayor wants to stop him.
Out of the 2 plots I like the plot about the past more. It's the more well written and interesting plot. However the other plot isn't bad. The film combines serious moments and comedy well.
The weird thing about the film is that the Lorax isn't the star of the film. The film is mostly about the Once-ler and Ted. The Once-ler is a sympathetic hero/antagonist. The Lorax is pretty cool. The Once-ler's mom is a cool villain. The Mayor is a funny villain. Ted and Audrey are okay.
Ed Helms is enjoyably goofy as the Once-ler. Danny DeVito is really good as the Lorax. A weird casting choice is Taylor Swift as Audrey. The film is a musical and Taylor is a singer, but her character doesn't sing.
The animation is good. It's a nice looking film. I really like the green outfit that the Once-ler wore. It looks so cool.
The film has quite a few songs and they are all pretty good. My favorite of the songs is the Once-ler's villain song. It is a really catchy song.
The Lorax is a good animated film that has nice animation.
