Sophie and her mother.
Hi everyone, 8 years ago, I watched the movie version and even wrote an article comparing both the movie and the stage version. So, here is my review on the movie itself.
I had always wanted to go to Greece, the scenery is breathtakingly pretty! I can't imagine how the filmmakers themselves did it, but I must give them credits for the lovely location.
I was actually amaze with the casts, especially Meryll Streep and Amanda Seyfried that they could actually sing. I love Streep's version of the Winner Takes it All in which she nails it, until the ending in which I was expecting dramatic moment like how they did it in the stage version!
Speaking of the songs, I was very happy that many of them appeared in the movie, with the exception of Knowing Me, Knowing You for time constraint and another song due to copyright reasons or something like that as mentioned in my previous article.
The story still remains the same as the stage version, with and it is the only musical movie to remain faithful towards its stage counterpart.
You're the Dancing Queen!
Spoiler alerts! If you haven't seen the film version yet, download it and watch it! It's a definite recommended movie even beating Hairspray!
Knowing Me, Knowing You!
