I mostly read mainstream fantasy manga like One Piece and Naruto, but sometimes I find an interesting manga outside of that category and now I want to let people know about them.

These are mangas that I have read or is reading and that I think that more people should know about, I will explain as much as I can without spoiling anything of the stories.
Remember this is NOT a top 10 list these Mangas is not listed in any perticular order only the order I came up with adding them.

1. Bitter Virgin

This one is very sad and it is an unusual love story.
It is very different from other manga I read and that is why I like it, it was a breath of fresh air.
The story and the characters feels very real at most times and It made me think about alot of terrible thing that people go through every day and how ignorant people can be.

It is much more mature that most other manga I read because it is set in the real world and deals with real traumas and it don't "sugarcoat" reality.

The story is great and I truly recommend that anyone who loves Impossible love stories check this great manga out.

2.Black Jack

Black Jack is an unlicensed surgeon who during his childhood lost his mother in an explotion which also almost killed him.
He was miraculously saved by Dr Honma and it is this that inspires him to become a surgeon.

He has a great love for life and charges enourmus fees inorder for his patients to learn that money is nothing compared to a human life.

The manga is about his many different and difficult cases together with his adopted daughter Pinoko.

This was written and illustraited by manga legend Osamu Tezuka who is most known for creating Astro Boy, Kimba the white lion and many many more.

3. 5 Centimeters per second

This manga is based on a movie with the same name.
The story is about Takaki Tōno and Akari Shinohara who meet in middle school but then they drift apart because Akari moves far away and they cannot meet in person anymore.
They still keep in touch with letters but since the replies get further and further apart they soon stop and life tries to move on.
I haven't read all of the manga and I haven't seen the movie yet either but this is the kind of story that I have a Love-Hate relationship with because I know how it feels to drift apart from people.

4. GE - Good Ending

This romance manga is actually very interesting to me and I usually stay away from romance manga because of most of them is "Harem" manga and I can't stand those.
But this is actually really good it is not overly sexual nor is it a "sugarcoated" fantasy where everything is perfect.
The story is about the shy Seiji Utsumi who is in love with a girl but don't have the guts to approach her and then he meets Yuki Kurokawa who is coaching him inorder to get the girl he likes to fall in love with him, but it is not as easy as it seems and Seiji is about tho have alot of both embarassing and educational encounters with different characters with different problems.

5. Bakuman

Bakuman is the story abou Mashiro Moritaka and Takagi Akito who both dream about becoming manga writers or "mangakas".
The story follows them from their second year in high school where Takagi convinces Mashiro to begin to draw manga with him, the pair experience both defeat and sucess and they gain a few rivals on the way.
The manga is written and illustrated by the pair that wrote "Death Note" and they use the same battle of the minds strategy that they used there.
The manga is made to show both how good and bad the life of a mangaka can be but also to teach us some of the rules that exist when writing manga.

6.Death Note

Since I mentioned Death Note I might aswell recommend it since it isn't your typical "Shonen" manga.
Death Note is about high school student Light Yagami who finds a God of death's note book and gets the power to kill anyone whos name is written in it.
He decides to use this power to "purify" the world from criminals and evil humans and become the worlds new god.
I love this manga because it is very good at keeping up the suspence and it is quite unpredictable.

7.Kingdom Hearts

Adventure, mystery, fantasy and Disney characters?
Yes this manga based on the hit videogame has all of that, it follows the story of the game but some parts have been cut out to save time and I don't think that it hurts it at all.
The series get a little more based on humor later on but in the beginning It isn't as bad.
It follows the adventures of young Sora in his quest to find his best friends Riku and Kairi and his adventures in different worlds based on Disney movies where he also meets the residents.
Examples of worlds he visits is Agrabah from Aladdin, Atlantica from The Little Mermaid and Neverland from Peter Pan.

8.Pokémon Adventures

I loved Pokémon from the first episode of the animé and I spent about three years searching for this manga after I learned that it existed because I wanted to see how it was and I was not disappointed.
The story follows the games more than the animé and that is a good thing, I like the animé better for the art style but the story in the manga more than makes up for it.
The first three volumes focuses on the journey of Red from Pallet Town and his two rivals Blue and Green where they try to stop the evil schemes of Team Rocket.

9.The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time

The Legend Of Zelda: Ocarina of Time THE best LoZ videogame ever in manga form two of my favorite things in one.
This manga gives Link and the other residents of Hyrule a bit more personality and it gives us a bit more story aswell.
The story is devided into two volumes each telling the story of Link in different stages the first volumes is Link in his childhood and in the second he is an adult.
I love this manga not only because I am a major Legend of Zelda fan but also because it tells us more in depth on certain details and skips a few other that isn't really necessary like Link walking between temples.

10.Detective Conan/Case Closed

Shinichi Kudo is a famous highschool detective that sometimes helps out the police on murder investigations but when he stumbles in the way of a mysterious crime organisation they try to poison him with a new poison, but the poison only reverts his aging process and turns him into a kid again.
Taking the name Conan Edogawa he moves in with his "girlfriend" Ran Mori and her father who is a private detective inorder to find the organisation and get his body back without anyone finding out that Shinichi Kudo and the young boy Conan Edogawa is the same person.
I love this manga for it simple but beautiful artstyle and very interesting story telling.

Well thats all folks, I hope you have been inspired to read one of these Mangas and I hope you have alot of fun with them.
