Mariah Carey says now that she regrets ever having performed at a party thrown by the sons of Moammar Gadhafi.
She tells Showbiz411.com columnist Roger Friedman that she will record a song for an upcoming album, Save the Day, to generate fund for human rights issues. (She has to give birth to her twins with Nick Cannon first.)
And the singer issued an official statement about the the performance:
"I was naïve and unaware of who I was booked to perform for. I feel horrible and embarrassed to have participated in this mess. Going forward, this is a lesson for all artists to learn from. We need to be more aware and take more responsibility regardless of who books our shows. Ultimately we as artists are to be held accountable."
