Hi guys, this is the second time that I will be writing an article about this movie. Only this time, I will be comparing to another book and movie adaptation called The Fault in Our Stars by John Green, ready?
Me Before You
While reading the novel and recently watching the film, I felt that the story was initially very sad and the fact that it has received backlash from the Disability Rights Movement considering that both the movie and the book were stereotypical.
I felt that the movie was very rushed and the book was long-winded too! On the other hand, it has some wittiness and funny qualities in it that I truly enjoyed watching it. It also captures the chemistry of Will and Lou.
The Fault in Our Stars
Okay, when I first read the book, the story is very unusual for a teenage novel. It is not like the usual Nicholas Spark's novel that we had previously read, especially his 'A Walk to Remember'. Which also centres around the same theme, the Fault in Our Stars has full of wittiness in it too. With the exception of the ending, that is!
Like Clark & Lou, Augustus & Hazel had a strong chemistry between them. I cried when Augustus died in the end and seeing Hazel cried really was a heart-wrenching moment for all of us.
The film is actually 90% faithful towards it's original novel, unlike many movie adaptations like Me Before You for instance.
Team Green or Team Moyes?
Spoiler Alert moments, if you have not seen or read both, I strongly suggest you guys to check them out. For me, I would personally think that The Fault in Our Stars is actually better, enjoy your day!
