@cherl In a way I agree with you, we don't know much about what happened behind closed doors in their marriage. And that's ok, it's private. I think they had a stormy and passionate relationship. They both had strong personalities, they had much in common, but were also very different. Michael had good manners, was kind, and often naive, he liked ladies with class, like Princess Diana. Lisa lacked class, she was a wild child, in addition she had a history of alcohol, pot and cocaine abuse. She could be tough, loud and determined. But exactly those qualities were useful as Michael's wife. As a couple they could complement each other, where she was weak, he was strong, and vice versa.

After hearing the news of his passing, Lisa Marie regrets doubting Michael's love for her by stating she felt indifferent towards him.
I'm sure it wouldn't be the first question I'd ask her, but if I had got to know her well, maybe I'd ask her this:
"You and Michael planned to have a baby together, but then you decided not to, after all. You changed your mind again later, but then Michael didn't want anymore. Debbie had made him that "offer". To me it seems like there was one person too many in your marriage. Do you think that you and Michael could've worked things out, saved your marriage, and had children, if Debbie and Michael hadn't continued to see each other, and she hadn't interfered?"
