Thriller will be 40 in November

Thriller starts it all. Thriller is the predecessor to the album, off the wall. Thriller created the ultimate blue print to the “pop sound formula”. Just imagine what what music wouldn’t be like if we didn’t have the musical influences from Thriller . Thriller is an album that perfectly displays the iconic Michael Jackson sound. On this album you have Rock, RB , and a reinvented pop . Thriller stands out from other albums from the early 80s era music. The reason behind that is because Michael Jackson made sure that not just synths and gated reverb drums were used when creating the album. Michael Jackson made sure to incorporate real instruments and beat boxing into thriller’s musical track arrangements. That’s what set Michael Jackson and Thriller our from the rest. Thriller is the best selling album of all time with sales of 70 million copies worldwide. Thriller birthed the moon walk , African Americans on MTV , and “short film” videography. Thriller isn’t just a album it’s a pop cultural piece that will never be forgotten and will be celebrated for years to come. Happy 40th Thriller !

A Note: I wish that Michael Jackson’s estate would celebrate and present Michael Jackson’s achievements more on a more authentic personal scale to his fans. The lack luster shirts and reprints of Thriller album isn’t ideal. I know if Michael was still here he wouldn’t approve. I wish that his estate and promoters would pay more attention to detail and take research on Michael Jackson’s fans to deliver better results when it comes to representing and celebrating Michael’s legacy. What would you have like to have seen the estate do for thriller 40 ?
