Heinrich was sitting in a field, holding Daisy once more. He sat down and looked at her with a smile, brushing her hair away from her forehead so he could look at her beautiful eyes once more. The only time he could smile and feel what his face was expressing was in his dreams when he was with Daisy again but he knew she was dead, even in his dreams so he could only cry.
"Heinrich, why are you crying?" Daisy asked softly, looking up at him.
"Because I'm alone Daisy." Heinrich whispered out.
"You have to let me go, it wasn't your fault Heinrich." Daisy said back to him, reaching back up but as she nearly touched him she stopped. "You still have a life to live."
"You're wrong." Heinrich said as he gritted his teeth. "It ended a long time ago. I'm a ghost, haunting this world now until something can finally break me. I'll make everyone pay, I'll make them all feel the way I did when I held you in my arms, dying from the cold and starvation."
"Then you truly did die with me." Daisy said as she finally touched him, turning to dust before Heinrich snapped awake, screaming out bloody murder before sitting up, panting. "Fuck." He commented out before getting up, seeing the sun beginning to rise. "I'm late." He grumbled to himself, gathering his things before getting on the move again. He usually woke up at the crack of dawn to catch Stuggart patrols off guard, finding that they liked to scavenge while there was light and while most beasts were still asleep. Today he figured he would be able to catch a smaller one, maybe nag himself a lady and have a good couple of days. He walked the tops of the buildings, waiting for them like a specter. The hardest part was the wait as they could take hours but this day was more quick, with a squad of three coming in.
"It's quiet, too quiet." The squad commander said before pulling out his saber which began to course with a green energy.
"Commander!" The male scout holding a knife said before he lunged forward at Heinrich who had leaped from the building.
"The marauder!" The female knight called out with her sword and shield.
"I'll handle this, give me support." The commander said before taking off his trench coat, revealing several knives on him and a gun.
"One, two, three or twenty- it doesn't matter." Heinrich said before taking off his cloak, revealing his cut like stone physique. "Who's first?"
"Confidence. We could have used someone like you in Stuttgart." The commander said before disappearing, coming from behind only to be blocked by Heinrichs spear. The rogue came forward to attack him only to be kicked by Heinrich who was still blocking the commander who had stepped back to attack. As the commander struck one more Heinrich had already turned around and blocked him against before going on the offensive, moving and alternating the tip of his spear back and forth with each strike, backing up the commander to a wall before he disappeared again, appearing behind Heinrich and attempting to attack him at his back. Heinrich blocked that blow but on his other side was struck by a sword, slashing through a chunk of his pectoral before Heinrich growled and swung his spear back, hitting the woman's shield and stabbing into it. He was then almost struck again by the saber before he pulled out his pistol with his other hand as shot the man holding it by placing his gun over his arm that was blocking a strike from the knight. "Block that!" Heinrich barked out.
"Commander!" The knight screamed before bashing Heinrich with her shield, knocking him back and giving the rogue a chance to try a jump attack. Heinrich went low, rolling out of the way before chucking his spear into him, throwing the rogue forward and pinning him into the wall as it went through his spine.
"Enough games." Heinrich said before picking up the commanders saber, only to have it burn his hand. "Fuck!" He growled, wondering what could make it do that before looking at the knight. "Do you want to die too?"
"It is you who will die." The knight said as she held her blade that had his blood on it.
"We'll see about that. If I don't though, you'll wish you had." Heinrich said as he waited for her to advance. Heinrich was faster as he was not constrained by armor, dodging a succession of strikes from her before kicking her shield, making her be pushed back as she jabbed her sword forward, catching part of his shoulder. It simply made Heinrich more angry as he grit his teeth, having his vision go red as he ripped away her shield with superhuman strength, smacking it against her head to knock her out. "Bitch." He said before beginning to strip her armor, taking her straps off and taking her down to her basic tank top and pants chausses underneath for her armor, grunting as he tore the pieces of her gambeson off to tie around his shoulder wound before then using it to bound her legs and arms before beginning to head north to find somewhere far to keep her for a week, undisturbed.
------------
"He fell for our bait, General Hirohito." Hans said to Hirohito, whispering into his ear. "The tracker is on the girl. Shall I take a group of men with me to capture this beast for High Commander Von Bannister?"
"No. You will take Kaito and a group of men to assure you all won't torture him to death and you will bring him before a priest first, so that I may wrap this up without Frederick's involvement." Hirohito said while looking over at Hans. "Understood?"
"But mild torture is allowed yes?" Hans asked with a chuckle.
"Why of course, that is implied. Now go get Kaito first, yes?" Hirohito ordered.
------------
"Why...are.."' The knight sat down on her knees- her face battered and blood in her mouth that she spit out. "Why do you do this?"
Heinrich sat naked on a stool, looking outside from the building he was held up in before looking at the knight. She had cuts all over her naked body and several of her teeth had been beaten out from her mouth in between the times that he was having his way with her. "'It's nothing personal." Heinrich said in a deep and guttural voice. "I simply have a thing against humanity."
"You're no different...than the beasts.." She cried out before Heinrich stood up, taking a knife off the ground that was bloody.
"You're wrong." Heinrich looked down at her, placing the knife in her mouth. "You're wrong. I am human, I am and I hate it. God said that he was to love us, to protect us and to be good. If he is real I want to see he is real, I want to see if he'll strike me down for what I've done. I want him to cry like I have, for I have lost so much and I want you too to know what constant pain and suffering is like. It's not just you, but everyone. Everyone must hurt."
"Please...no." The knight cried out.
"Yes." Heinrich took the blade and cut upwards on her cheek slowly, making sure she felt every second as he sawed the blade upwards all the way to her jaw bone- the woman having passed out half way before he took the blade out, shaking his head, looking at the knife before he sighed out and stabbed it into the side of her head.
"How far are we from the signal?" Kaito asked as he donned a black armor, riding a horse next to Hans who was on a massive stallion bred just for him.
"That former hotel in front of us, half collapsed." Hans said while looking down at the tracker before looking back, seeing six men riding a carriage meant to hold a prisoner. "Let us get off our horses and find this beast."
"Oh Daisy, won't you give me one last dance?" Heinrich asked the body, now wearing his clothing once more. He held up the dead body and danced with it slowly, closing his eyes as he hummed a song that his mother used to hum to him. He moved slowly with each step, spinning the naked and tortured corpse around even and chuckling as Hans, Kaito and six men came into his room.
"Lets skip the introductions, you're under arrest." Hans said to Heinrich who jolted, now aware of what was in his room.
"I think not!" Heinrich said as he grabbed his spear, looking at the window to jump out of before Hans whipped him across the back, having the spikes in his whip extend out and cause the whip to stay stuck in his back, pulsing electricity through it and having Heinrich scream out as he fell down to his knees.
"Strip his clothes and use the rusty chains for his legs and hands." Hans ordered as he retracted his whip, taking a chunk of meat out as it snapped back to a cane.
"What is this?" Kaito asked Hans as he saw Hans's brutes begin to follow their orders.
"We are permitted light torture." Hans said with a grin.
"And what is that?" Kaito asked Hans with a sullen look.
"Whatever I say it is, Captain Kuhn." Hans hissed out to him.
~~~~~~
Pretty fit aren't you beasty boy? Barely awake, did old Hansy rough you up too bad? Good. Good- we want you to not move around too much, makes the whole experience all the more unpleasant on our end. Don't scream too much now- you'll wake up the neighbors.
Well come on now, hurry up!
I am I am, shut up now, before you wake up the samurai.
~~~~~~
"Get the fuck off him." Kaito said as he got out from his tent, holding his katana in his hand as he watched the two men get off Heinrich who was still out of consciousness. "You cowards are sick."
"He's sick! We're just making up for what he's done to our people!" The big one said to Kaito as he zipped up his pants.
"We won't be lettin you kill us for this!" The skinny one said as he walked out holding a knife he'd been using to cut across Heinrich's body with.
"As headsman of Stuttgart and Captain of the Beast Corps, I sentence you to death for sodomy and assault." Kaito lit his sword ablaze, beginning to fight the men.
"Protecting a beast? Has Kaito gone soft?" Hans asked as he watched the fight, seeing Kaito take both their heads off and grinning, wondering what had changed in Kaito since the Hohenzollern incident.
~~~~~~~
Everything...hurts. I feel disgusting and violated, with every orifice of my body flared in pain yet what can I do? This is god punishing me. I was caught, I was shown that he is real- my wish was granted. I see a light in the distance, perhaps it is him. Am I dead? Will I go to Hell for what I have done?
I hope so. I hope I do- I want to suffer. I want to, it's the only thing that's ever made me feel alive since she died. I feel dead- perhaps I am? Why is there no heaven or hell, is it another game that god is playing with me.
"Wake up." Frederick spoke out while crossing his arms, looking at Heinrich. "Wake up."
"I..." Heinrich woke up finally, being tossed into Fredericks office- his entire body cut up and bruised with feces smeared all over his face. "I am."
"I am High Commander Frederick Von Bannister of Stuttgart, the land that you've been plaguing for two years now. What is your name?"
"What is my name?" Heinrich said quietly before scrunching his face up, beginning to cry. "I haven't heard it in so long...I.."
"What is it boy?" Frederick asked.
"It's....I..." Heinrich breathed out. "I think it's Heinrich. It's Heinrich...Heinrich Hess."
"Heinrich Hess." Frederick said while sitting on his desk. "You've put yourself in quite a position. You were quite roughed up out there and I have put them to death if it is any solace. We here live in a civilization, the last beautiful civilization on this planet. I am one of the founders of it and I believe that Stuggart is a place of revival, of change and of a new beginning for humanity and for all her people. You are guilty of many many things but I offer you a choice to have your new beginning- your revival as a new man."
"Kill me." Heinrich said while on his knees, having tears stream down his face.
"I will not." Frederick said to him. "I will not, but you will wish I had. See as we are a place of revival we are also a land of laws and we must all be judged in the eyes."
"The eyes of what?" Heinrich asked. "Of god?"
"No, of me." Frederick said as he stood with pursed lips. "You will be reborn but only after you suffer unimaginable pain, do you understand?"
"Yes." Heinrich said with tears in his eyes. "I understand." He sobbed out.
"You're a rapist and a killer, but we will make a Stuggarian out of you- you will become part of our beautiful civilization by serving in her military when you are done, this I will promise you. You will take a new name and you will be a new man." Frederick barked out.
"May...May I ask one thing?" Heinrich asked him.
"What?" Frederick said in a response.
"Let me keep my name. I never want to forget who I was again." Heinrich said as he sniffed, taking away the weakness from his voice.
"So be it. Hans, take him away." Frederick said as he waved his hand. "Fix him."
"Heinrich, why are you crying?" Daisy asked softly, looking up at him.
"Because I'm alone Daisy." Heinrich whispered out.
"You have to let me go, it wasn't your fault Heinrich." Daisy said back to him, reaching back up but as she nearly touched him she stopped. "You still have a life to live."
