Nah to be honest shanks doesn't really want to become the pirate king and whats even more funny shanks was on rogers crew so shouldn't shanks and buggy know where one piece is and what it is and if I recall buggy never really showed any interest in one piece so I strongly think it's not even a treasure of gold but more of knowledge. and buggy only search for treasure of gold. and to finish it all up if shanks wanted to be the pirate king he could of done it about 14 years ago the most he just wants to have fun like luffy and adventure he already been on the journey of onepiece so I think he doesn't have any more need to go on another journey like it again

Well, Buggy did say he wants to become the Pirate King.
Nope...........Shanks can be pirate king anyime he wants.......but he will not be pirate king bcz he have faith in Luffy....remember when Shanks gave luffy his precious hat.........he said to return it when he become a great pirate which means pirate king...Shanks know very well that Luffy will be a pirate King some day ....he is waiting for it...and he stepped down from that post for luffy.....bcz he have faith in him...giving his precious hat to luffy is the symbol..........he eh ehe heh
i think no. Because, Luffy must return his straw hat to Shanks. after Luffy stronger than Shanks that means, Shanks is waiting that Luffy will be a pirate king
