So Im goin on a bit of a rant today. Not an angry one, but just a slightly frustrated one! Pittsburgh is our place of rest today as we have a day off. This follows three gigs in a row, which went really well. The audiences have been electric on this tour so far and Im thinking the theatre thing is really working well for Celtic Thunder. I dont believe the Ice hockey arena's is where we should be. I digress!

So we get on the bus last night and make our way toward Pittsburgh. I was really quiet tired and looking forward to hittin the hay. First off it was a case of having to beat Damian two in a row on the XBOX in the new NBA game. He is 4-3 up in total but there is a lot of tour to go yet. Tired but accomplished, I climb into the bunk and within minutes Im in snoorville! However, our driver Gary, who does a great job, had an interesting drive. Im not sure what it was he decided to do at 5.30am but Ive a feeling it was either make a triple decker sandwich, play a game of Suduko, pluck his eye brows, try some Yoga or just colour by numbers. Whatever it was, I was shaking in my bunk like like kittin in a tumble dryer and couldnt get back to sleep. Eventually i dosed off only to woken again at 8.30am to be told to get up and off our bus as we could only park outside the hotel for a couple of minutes. I knew today was gonna be a struggle. After a shower and a cold face splash, I decided going back to bed would be a shame considering it was such a nice day. so after a bit of breakfast I decided to try and find an official Steelers Store for some gear. Now people, dont start at me about other teams you follow, as I am not a fanatic fan. I just like the Steelers as I sang the National Anthem for them in 05 and also cause the owners are of Irish decent. After a little research I was told it was near the Stadium so that was in the bag. I also wanted to get to the Andy Warhol museum which was also near the stadium. Now all I needed was a taxi. Dear Lord was it a national taxi holiday today? Not ONE to be had!! After a few hours of walking around the area and taking in the beautiful colleges and Churches in the area I got chatting to a school girl and she put me on a bus to Downtown. When I got there I decided I would just walk to the theatre and head to the Steelers shop after. Eventually I got to the museum and low and behold, as true as Im sittin here. The Damn Museum was CLOSED! CLOSED?? What, was it National museum holiday too?? What the ************! I just had to laugh! At that point I was too tired to walk down to Heinz so looked for a taxi........NO!
I gave up on getting some Steelers gear and decided to head back to my hotel. I picked up a coat in Macy's which was great as us "foreigners" get %11 off! Sweet, all is not lost. After waiting 45 minutes for a taxi at the Westin I head to my room. Starving, I decided to get a short work out done and then come back to order room service. I see steak on the menu....mmm! Thinks are looking up Byrom!!! I ring down, put in the order, delighted, excited and feeling good after the gym. Hit the shower, dry off, and get dressed. Phone rings and guess what...........No Steak!! New menu, a God your havin a laugh! So I order a chicken sandwich....guess what.......
Eventually I get an order in and decide a note or two for you guys is defo ON the menu. (Im still waiting on the food)

On a more serious note, I wanted to address something that is bothering all five of us. We all appreciate our fan base that is growing and ever present on this tour. We know how much is spent and how many miles are travelled to see us perform. When we say that we appreciate the support, we REALLY do. The problem which has risen for us is that because PBS sell tickets for the tour and promote our group throughout the year we really need to stay on side with them. Its a successful partnership and one we want to, need to, keep healthy. Therefore when they sell Meet and Greets we have to play by their rules. What Im saying is, it is always out of our hands to a huge extent. The problem arises then when we leave the gig and see all the fans outside. We TRULY would love to stop and sign and take pics with you, However we are told that people pay for this privilage and therefore cant do it for free immediately after the gig outside. It pains us as we really want to accomodate everyone. So please try and understand, it is out of our hands. We do love you all, and never take you for granted. I will keep you posted on any developments on this as we as a group are trying to rectify this issue as soon as possible.

Now, food has eventually arrived, so gonna shoot off!

Love you, my loves my doves my eggs!
