Friday arrived. After school let out, Anjanette and Becky walked to the mall. Becky said, "This is so nice." The first store they stopped in was the record store. Anjanette said, "This is a really nice record store. I don't know why I never went in here before." Becky said, "First time for everything, right?" Anjanette laughed. "Right." Becky went to the Beatles section. Anjanette said, "You like the Beatles too?!" Becky said, "Yeah! Didn't Ferdinand tell you?" Anjanette said, "I don't think so." They each got some CD's. The two friends browsed for a while. Just then, they saw Ferdinand. Ferdinand asked, "Anjanette, how do you like Becky?" Anjanette said, "She's a lot of fun, and she's really nice." Becky smiled. She asked, "Are you ready to go to dinner, Ferdinand?" He said, "Yeah. Anjanette, why don't you join us?" She froze. She didn't want to feel like a third wheel. Becky said, "Come on, Anjanette! It'll be fun!" Anjanette said, "No, you two go ahead. I don't want to be a third wheel." Ferdinand said, "You won't be." Becky said, "We want you around. You're our friend." Anjanette said, "Okay." Dinner was even more fun for Anjanette. Just as Ferdinand said, she was not a third wheel. Later, they met up with Tammy and ended the evening with some karaoke. Anjanette was glad that she decided to give Becky a chance. Anjanette knew that she didn't lose a friend. She simply gained some new ones. That night, Anjanette came home. Uncle Bruce, Misty, and Blitz were waiting for her. She said, "I had a great time. I really did." Uncle Bruce smiled. He was glad that Anjanette was becoming more sociable. It was giving her some more confidence and better self-esteem.
