Pottermore Question

The WHOLE point? (I'm no hater.:D)

I was just wondering why everyone wants an early access when it was clearly stated that they won't be able to access the whole thing but only their registered info (like editing them). It opens to all in October and everybody seem to WANT to get in quickly when Pottermore opens to ALL in October, meaning even if they are first to register, they'll enter the entire Pottermore when everybody can.

(The reason I'm asking this is I am one of those who is dying to get an early registration but always failed to make it or even see a clue for the Quill. I am trying to convince myself, then, to just wait 'till October.hahahaha.)

Well, I think it's just human nature, when you make something sound "exclusive", then you get all kinds of people clamoring to get in early. The funny thing I found, after reading on the site, is that even if you do find the quill and "get in early", you may still be waiting several weeks for the confirmation email, so you may wind up not getting in until October anyway.

And just finding the quill does not guarantee you'll get in early. They have a set number of reservations for the day, and if you find the quill but fail to beat all the other successful quillseakers, you have to come back the next day and try again.

I think it's much ado about nothing, really.

but are you trying to get in? or you already made it? (I agree with everything you said, I just can't voice it out because some part of me wants to get in too.))

The ones who get in early are basically the beta-testers, meaning they do get into the entire site. It's to help see how stable the site is and how they can fix it, but it's also an early chance at the Pottermore experience.
So, there is a reason why people are going in early.

Yeah, but I think it's just out of curiosity and excitement that people die to get in early (me included, but I failed...)

Honestly, I just wanted in early because I seriously couldn't wait to see what it was going to be like. I wasn't ready for HP to be over and when I found out there was going to be a website with new information about the characters, I was very excited. Also, the idea of getting my own wand and being sorted into a house sounded amazing. When I heard that early entry was possible, I was determined to be one of the beta testers.

I haven't received my welcome e-mail yet, but my sister has and I have to say the artwork on the site is truly breathtaking. The early registers do have access to the entire website (though only book 1 is up at the moment), but there are a lot of glitches and many improvements that can be made. It really is a great website, though. By October, I think it will be truly incredible :)

what do you mean getting your own wand??? like they'd send you? or just the virtual?? (I didn't make it, see...))

It's only virtual (I WISH they would send us a real one! That would be awesome!). When you get to Ollivanders, you're asked a series of questions and the type of wand you get is based upon your answers, similar to the sorting. It's really cool :)

I was under the impression that fans who registered early will get early access to the beta website (Sometime between mid-August and September). So we're gonna kinda be like testers. It won't be full access until October with everybody else, but at least there's a bit of a sneak peak. n_n
