Pottermore Question

Did anyone try the "Wideye or Awakening Potion"? If yes, did it work?

Someone made a comment in the Great Hall that this Potion doesn't work and that we shouldn't waste our ingredients trying to brew it. Can anyone tell me if this is true or if this person just didn't do it right?

Yup. It's true. This potion is incredibly glichy. You can do the first phase perfect, wait almost an hour for it to "brew", do the second phase perfect, and feel great thinking you have a potion. Except you apparently ran out the timer/added to much x-ingredient/etc. even though you darn well know you didn't. And you do this about 50 more times before you give up and feel like punching you computer screen. Worst bit is, there is no wat to contact Pottermore tech to get them to fix the gliches. Duh! It's a beta site, they should have a tech message center.

Now there's a similar glitch for the Swelling Solution. It always overheats.

I can't speak for anyone else, but I've tried it about five times and it has never worked for me. I'll put in all the ingredients and do exactly as it says, but when I wave my wand it says the potion failed because I didn't put in enough wolfsbane - the only thing is, it never told me to put any in there! I've double checked it over and over but it does the same thing every time.

That's a shame... Once it wasn't possible for me to grab the Flobberworm jar, but the next time I tried it worked again... Have you got the same problem with every Potion?

Um, sort of. I can't stir or use high heat on any of them, but some of them are more specific... Like whenever I try cure for boils it often tells me I added the wrong amount of snake fangs when I'm 100% sure I didn't. And I've tried them all multiple times, so it's not a one time thing.

But how did you get all of your 410 house points if Potions doesn't work for you? Did you get all those while the dueling was still available?

Yeah, most of them are from dueling, but some of them - maybe a dozen - were the consolation points for messing up a potion. xD And of course, there's like, 40 or so from finding stuff. :]

I think that person just doesn't know how to brew it that's it. I got it brewed from the first time. Maybe that person just doesn't understand how to do it or he/she fails to brew it every time he/she tries.
