It was the 2nd season episode 1, "American Duos" It started out with little Shawn and Gus doing a talent show and ended 20 years later with them doing the same thing in mismatched costumes singing Shout by, Tears for Fears with Gus doing Jackson. They were better than they were judged.
It's an American Idol knock off.
