When I say religion what comes to mind?

War, Hate, Disgust, Lies.

Burning people for no reason. Something that can make people make stupid disicions.

People fighting stupid wars for their religion, despite the fact that "Thou shalt not kill" is clearly stated in every religion that I know of (except for Greek Mythology, but I don't really know many people who worship the Greek Gods anymore...)
