they've always schedueled movies to premere on Fridays because most people like to use Friday evenings as an oppurtunity to unwind from the week at work or school, and many find the calm, dark atmosphere of a movie theater one of the most ideal public places to do so, many people actually dedicate Saturdays and Sundays to active social gatherings or religous observance, so the movie people think Friday is the best day to premere their films. Sorry that it doesnt settle well with you, though.
