how to convince my parents to let me wear makeup??

ive been secretly wearing mascara and my mom found it in my bag.......so she asked me about it and took it away. i told her i thought it was lip gloss, and i think she believed me.....but idk. she took it away, but i want to ask her if i can wear it again. it wasnt even that much!! i was wearing just a touch of CLEAR mascara to bring out my long eyelashes. so, what to do???? should i sneak it back?? thanks and no rude comments about how makeup ruins your face or whatever:]

How about this, quit being so OD (Oppositional Defiant.) I know parents aren't always as right as they tend to think they are, but you listen to them anyways. (There are exceptions to this, such as if your parents are abusive, drunk, ECT, but this sounds like a classic example of the typical girl who thinks that she will be so flipping pretty just because she has some make up, and like not wearing make up will kill her or something.)

If your parents won't let you wear makeup then you have to accept the facts of life and wait until your older.

Perhaps you should talk to her about how you want to wear makeup and how much it would be. I don't think stealing it back would do you any good.

FYI, I don't even wear makeup. :P

My mom was the same way, until I got to high school, but I just dealt with it until then. Usually your parents really do know best. As for clear mascara, you should explain that you just want to bring your eyelashes out without making them HUGE.

I personally (I'm not saying this to be rude, just to help) think that girls don't need makeup. You're probably just as beautiful with or without it. Learn that.

Point out to her how un attractive she looks without make up, and how many opportunities she has missed out on life because people judge others on their appearance, and she is causing the same to happen to you.

Whenever you need someone to do something for you, hit their ego.

1: You could sneak it but sooner or later she might or will probably find out tell you that you can't wear it and she will make you don't.

2: You two could talk it about how much you wear or why you can't wear. My mom lets me wear the lightest tones of eye shadow and clear lip gloss.

(below) pretty huh??

Well I mean I'm not allowed to wear makeup either and I'm 12 so in the mornings sometimes all I do is just take some tinted lip balm (like for what I use is baby lips) and then I use a q tip and dip it in Vaseline and use that as clear mascara. I bet your probably allowed to wear lip balm but if not that's ok just try the Vaseline trick as clear mascara.

I'd recommend against using vaseline as mascara. It can get into the tear duct or eyelash follicles and cause styes (inflammation of the eyelid aka "not fun at all")
