While it is true that "zombies" do eat the flesh of living things, there is no reason to suspect that the face eater is in fact a zombie.
Throughout time there have been accounts of one eater another in the same species, otherwise known as cannibalism. It still exists today, and animals do cannibalize at times.
It is highly unlikely that this is the beginning of some "zombie outbreak". The media just threw out the name "zombie" because naturally some people would associate zombies with this.
