I Want To Buy Something With My Own Money, But My Mum Says No. What Do I Do?

I want to get a hat with my own money, that I've earned myself, so shouldn't I get the rights to buying what I want? My mum won't let me. I remember her saying;

'I don't care what you buy with your own money!'

Me: 'Okay! Can I buy this then?'

Mum: 'No.'

I can understand parents not wanting their kids to buy all sorts of crap that will mess up their house... say you wanted to buy a giant pink piano (I dunno.. I panicked), that could be understandable because that would take up so much space and be super annoying. If there is nothing offensive about the hat, explain to your mum that you believe you deserve to buy the hat, because you worked hard to earn the money to buy it.

My mum doesn't want me to buy the hat because it's a bit 'expensive' but, it's the only one I can find as I want to use it for a cosplay. I asked in the first place because I needed her credit card details :\ Thanks though!! My mum said maybe though, she's think about it. xD A giant pink piano :D

If you really want it that badly and think it'll be useful, keep asking her every so often until she finally gives in. And try to give her some reasons that might persuade her. But, don't ask her every second until she gets so annoyed, she'll most likely not let you get the hat.

If you have your money in cash, tell her that you'll give her the money after you use the credit card so it'll be a fair exchange for it. Like you take the amount of money off the credit card and give her it back in return (like pay her it back) it's worked for me before :D
