why are basements & attics so dam creepy???

It's because those scary movies you've watched are still fresh in your mind XP

But yeah, I kind of feel for you because I'm claustrophobic (I hate small spaces) and I have an attic. I've never really been inside it (too dark and lots of spiders). *shudders*

Because, for whatever reason, ghosts like to call them home.

I love basements and attics. I've always been fascinated by places that are scary and/or mysterious.

Because they´re on the darkest spots of a house :l

SAME!!!! I have something buried in my basement. I hope it's a dead body. I swear m house is haunted. It was built a year before the Great Depression. So thers a good chance it is haunted.

Because the memory of horror films that you watch it's still fresh in your mind.

We all have these fears we can't control, you have to face them.

It's probably because places like that make your imagination run wild. I know that happens to me.

Maybe in movies and books scary stuff happens in them. You probably also aren't use to being in those places. There are usually a lot of gross bugs in basements. I don't really find attics creepy.

Trust me, I hear ya...

I have this double light switch (one controls the hall light and one the attic) I feel like if I turn on the one in the attic something will get mad at me. One night I accidentey flipped that light on; I hear scratch, go in my room to see the cross on my closet rotate up and fall to the floor.

I didn't know there was attics and basements with Dams in them! Wow, that must be very difficult to deal with.

Most peoples fears of those places usually come from them being unfamiliar with those places, or their fear of the dark unknown. Those places are usually used much less than the other areas of a house, and are often neglected when it comes to usage (I mean let's be serious, who really goes in their attic for anything other than specific problems with the house namely the ceiling?) Basements used to be a lot more frightening atmosphere wise, but most of them these days are a lot less eerie with their atmosphere. Attics haven't seemed to change though, their still scary as crap! Haha.
