What is the last book you read and why did you decide to read it?

The House on Mango Street by Sandra Cisneros

It was assigned in English, but I am going to DEAD honest. It was a great read. The writing style is so...so peculiar. It's written through vignettes, or "small windows" in French. A small yet impactful book, and the writing style really inspires me since many people don't like my writing style. I write free, I write with double meaning, and I write with no English boundaries. I write however I want, sometimes I don't have a plot, sometimes I just draw a picture in words (literally). This author, Sandra Cisneros, truly helped me see the world in a different light. I love vignettes, and I finally know how to label my writing.

I read "Zomerwoud" or "Summerwood" as it is in English by Linda Dielemans. 'Cause it was my Sinterklaas (or Santa-Claus, but I'm not sure if there's an English version) present :)

Last book I read was Mockingjay.
Granted I've only read half of it and haven't got 'round to finishing it yet....
It's definitely the weakest of the Hunger Games trilogy. I have no idea how they're going to pull off splitting that book into two movies :L

Last book I read (still reading) is called Dualed
I read it just for fun.

Beautiful Creatures because I had heard some good reviews on it so I thought, why not? and read it.

The last short story I read was 'Jelena, žena koje nema' (Helen, the woman that doesn't exist, roughly translated.) by Ivo Andrić, it was school work.
But the last real book was 'The Prophet' by Khalil Gibran. I read some quote somewhere, and decided to read the whole book. It's awesome, I recommend it!

Schoolgirl by Osamu Dazai. I had previously read Dazai's "No Longer Human" and with that heavy weight it left me with mixed with the often overbearing amount of misogynistic ideas and words, I had to findout how on Earth a man like Dazai would write from a female perspective.

Shockingly, he did a very good job of it. He was able to give the perfect and still deeply pained voice to the female lead.

"A Series of Unfortunate Events: The Bad Beginning" because I needed to pass the time while my ear medicine was settling in. XD

I read "Night". Its a book written about the Holocaust by a Holocaust survivor, Elie Wiesel. It was a school assignment and it truly makes you question humanity.

I'm currently reading Service with a Smile by P.G. Wodehouse, because it's the only Uncle Fred book I hadn't read yet. It's super funny and awesome so far, like all Wodehouse. :)
