Look, I know asterisks are cool, but you probably should be using quotation marks

I would assume they want to talk about something that's pretty damn serious. Breaking up, bad news, a secret to confess, ratting somebody out, you being punished (if your parents said that), anything like that and. And I hate snitches

Depends who is talking. Probably has to do with financial issues though. That's what it's been lately.

With 99.99999 percent of people? That they need to talk to me.

When Riku says it? I'm probably in the doghouse with her.

I usually hear this from friends at school. It makes me alert instantly - with thoughts flooding my brain of how I might've done something wrong, offensive, upsetting. Maybe I might've made them sad, disappointed and/or pissed-off with my actions and words that day? Or what if they guessed a secret of mine and want to confront me about it? It makes me panic! My heart rate increases, with dread filling my being and I usually stare blankly at the friend until they speak up to clear the matter... silently observing them, monitoring their movements, anticipating their response....!

If it was my aunt, I’d assume it was because she went snooping on my computer and found all my Nick Wilde photos. TBH, there’s nothing “that bad” on there, but I do have at least 3 photos that are.... questionable. The rest are basically just normal pictures.

Welp, various theories come to mind and they mostly depend on the person but mainly:

A) They have a complaint to make.

B) They'll either break up or move even forward concerning their relationship with me.

C) They will finally show their true colors and are going to challenge me to a Death Match.

For those that I haven't talked to much, I would also assume that this is the reason and they would like to get to know me better in general, hopefully !!!!

If its someone I talk to plenty, usually either there is something wrong with the relationship that needs fixing or they need help with something / are depressed / etc. Definitely something serious though.

Usually when I say it, its because something urgent is concerning me and its something that needs to be addressed. May it be a concern for someone's behavior or something personal thats been bothering me and talking would likely prevent anything worse from happening.

Honestly, a lot of the time I say it, its usually out of a decent amount of concern. Usually if I get upset or truly mad at someone, I usually go flat out silent or make it very clear. Usually if I go out of my way to calmly approach the topic with something like a "we need to talk" its usually something I want to work though and make sure gets resolved as a friend / signficant other / etc.

Like my band leadership killing their relationship with the rest of the band. Friends getting a little too into clearly bad coping habits (alcohol and shit). A threat to the relationship. etc etc
