This article kind of has a story to go along with it. You see, a few years ago I was going to make an article about my top 15 favorite animated characters but all I ever did was the title, the images, and character quotes. So I never got to making the article and it just stayed in my rough draft box all this time, just shows how lazy I am. Along with that, recently I made a video about my top 20 favorite fictional characters but youtube blocked it globally so no one could watch it so I just deleted it. Please comment but keep in mind this is just my opinion. Enjoy!

20.Aang and Zuko (Avatar: The Last Airbender)
Zuko: I can't believe a year ago my purpose in life was to hunt you down. And now..., Aang: And now we're friends.
Zuko: I can't believe a year ago my purpose in life was to hunt you down. And now..., Aang: And now we're friends.

It's hard for me to decide which one of these two I like more and I just had to have them on this list so I just gave them both the number 20 spot. These two are both really different and really similar at the same time. Aang is more fun-loving and positive while Zuko is more serious and negative. In the episode, "The Storm", you can see how much they're alike. They both have a complexity to them, like all the main characters on the show do. Zuko has been through so much with his father banishing him and burning his face, his father favoring his sister over him, his mother disappearing, and having to struggle to survive. Aang has also been through a lot. He's a 12 year old little boy who has to save the world, he was frozen for a hundred years, and his entire civilization was wiped out. They're both complex, brave, smart, care about the ones they love, and determined. I love how fun-loving Aang is and how much innocence he has to him. With Zuko I love how complex he is. They're both amazingly developed character. Plus, Zuko is one of the most handsome animated male characters and Aang is just so freaking adorable. They're not higher because I find the others more interesting.

19.Woody (The Toy Story Trilogy)
So long partner.....
So long partner.....

This guy was one of my idol's as a kid! He is just so awesome! He's smart, kind, caring, loyal, fun-loving, and is such a good friend. During all three movies he develops and just keeps getting better and better. First he learns that no matter what there is always form for love in someones hearts for more than just one, then learns that he'll need to face the inevitable (that one day Andy will grow up and won't need him anymore), and finally that you can't hold on to the past and you need to let go so you can move on with your life. He's an incredible well-developed character and it can't be denied. He's the glue that holds the group together and is a natural born leader. Everyone looks up to him and it's not hard to see why. But at the same time he's not perfect, he has his flaws. I guess he's not higher because the others are just more interesting to me.

18.Merida (Brave)
I am Merida! First born descendant of clan DunBroch, and I'll be shootin' for my own hand!
I am Merida! First born descendant of clan DunBroch, and I'll be shootin' for my own hand!

This is kind of ironic because last year for a while I disliked her but now I ADORE her! I know she acts like a brat at the beginning and I usually hate characters like that but her development is realistic and well-done. People say Sinbad and Naveen changed but I feel like their development came out of no where and was just horribly done. Even before she changed, I just LOVED that scene where she competes for her own hand. I love the strength she has to go against tradition and follow her heart. She's brave, smart, beautiful, cares about her family, is determined, fun, adventurous, curious, and mischievous. I really feel like she grew and learn from her mistakes. She went from a spoiled brat to a mature young woman. She was even willing to marry someone she doesn't love to stop the war between the clans, before Elinor thankful stopped her. She's not higher because I just can't get past the fact that she tried to change her mother. Plus, I was really disappointed that she wasn't the bada** character I thought she would be and was a little bit of a damsel in distress.

17.Bugs Bunny (The Looney Tunes)
Ehhh, what's up doc?
Ehhh, what's up doc?

How can anyone not love this guy? He's freaking HILARIOUS! I love how he always manages to trick people and turn them against themselves. He's just so freaking clever that it's just HILARIOUS! Every line of dialogue he has I just freaking ADORE! He cares about his friends and tries to help innocent people. Like when Sam was trying to take advantage of Granny by tricking her into marrying him so he could have her money, he does all he can to stop that from happening. I also just LOVE his relationship with Lola, not the Lola on the new Looney Tunes show, that one is just creepy. I love how she's the serious one and he's the not so serious one, they go together perfectly. This guy is just amazing and so HILARIOUS and interesting! He's not higher because the others are more interesting.

16.Helga (Hey Arnold)
For pitty sake, are you that cold? Look into your heard and we've got a choice here. Either you and I work all night to find a certain lost daughter or you can leave now. But if you leave, that football headed kid will never believe in miracles again.
For pitty sake, are you that cold? Look into your heard and we've got a choice here. Either you and I work all night to find a certain lost daughter or you can leave now. But if you leave, that football headed kid will never believe in miracles again.

This girl is EPIC and HILARIOUS! I mean come on, the title of the show maybe "Hey Arnold!" but we all know it should be saying "Hey Helga!". This girl is not your typical heroine, in fact she makes Fiona from Shrek look like Snow White. She's INSANE! She constantly stalks Arnold and is obsessed with him, she once sculpted his likeness out of wads of his used gum. She's just so HILARIOUS! In fact, probably one of the most HILARIOUS characters in all creation! You know how most heroines are animal lovers? Well not in this case. She constantly gets pooped on by birds. This one time when a parrot heard her say how much she loved Arnold and it got loose, pooped on her, and said "YOU CAN RUN BUT YA CAN'T HIDE! I'LL HUNT YOU DOWN, I SWEAR IT! YA HEAR?". Before it got loose she was going to use a chainsaw to kill it. SHE'S INSANE! You know how people say Lilo from Lilo and Stitch is crazy and practices voodoo? Well Helga mentioned that she used to practice animal sacrifices! She's even crazier than Lilo and that's no small accomplishment! Plus when that Arnold's pet pig stole her heart shaped locket of Arnold she just ran shouting "COME BACK HERE YOU FILTHY PIG! COME BACK! COME BACK!" LOL! I love how she goes insane with the evil laugh of hers. I also love when she crashes through the ceiling and just limps to school with that crazy look on her face. Plus who could ever forget her iconic punching Brainy? I've always wanted to do that to someone. It's so funny! Though other than being mean and completely insane, she's actually a really sweet girl. She's had a hard life, her family completely ignores her! Her mom is on drugs and forgets everything. She forgets her purse on the car when she drives! Who does that? I'm surprised Helga hasn't starved! Her dad just yells and always has to have things his way, no wonder the girl is violent. He always calls her Olga, which is the name of her perfect older sister. Her sister is described as one thing, Mary-Sue. She's so perfect and Helga is always compared to her. Can you imagine how horrible it is to be compare to a perfect older sibling constantly to no end? They ignore Helga and pay so much attention to Olga that Helga had to walk herself to preschool when she was 3/4 years old, in the rain, got all muddy, and a dog stole her lunch. My favorite Helga moment is in the episode Arnold's Christmas, where the only thing she wanted for Christmas was a certain pair of snow-boots. She gets them but she also had been trying to find out what to get Arnold for Christmas, which is to find Mr. Hyunh long lost daughter (who was separated from him by a war), and to do that he needed to get those snow-boots for a guy at an office to give to his daughter, so he would find her. She gives up her boots but he still refuses because it was late. Helga than says the quote in the caption. That really shows that along with her tough exterior, complexity, and insanity that she also has a good a pure heart. Usually I hate bullies but Helga is the exception because she's just an amazingly written character. Minus the characters from Avatar: The Last Airbender, Helga is the most complex and well-written character that Nickelodeon has ever created). She's also kind of pretty, in an unconventional way, plainly pretty. She'd be a lot prettier if she did something with her hair and plucked that uni-brow of hers, which she does in the Valentines Day episode and she looks beautiful. When she grows up she actually is very beautiful and much prettier than her sister. She's not higher because the others are more my style.

15.Quasimodo and Madellaine (The Hunchback of Notre Dame 1 and 2)
Quasimodo: I love Madellaine!!!!!!!, Madellaine: And I love Quasimodo!!!!!!!!
Quasimodo: I love Madellaine!!!!!!!, Madellaine: And I love Quasimodo!!!!!!!!

It's hard for me to decide which one of these characters I love more, so I just decided to give them both this spot. They're so much alike! They've been abused by their masters but still managed to keep their good hearts. Quasimodo is hideous but he is truly beautiful on the inside because of his amazing heart. I love how he's even willing to go against Frollo to help his friends. I love how Madellaine is gorgeous and wonderful but is really insecure and doesn't feel particularly pretty or confident or anything like that. I relate to that a lot. I also love how these two just compliment each other because Quasimodo does see the beauty of Madellaine, both outside and inside, and Madellaine sees past Quasi's looks and sees the beauty inside of him. They inspire each other to be the best that they can be because they believe that the other deserves that. They're both smart, kind, caring, well-developed, brave, strong, clumsy, charmingly awkward, and have true beauty inside of them. I don't have them higher because the others are just more interesting.

14.Patch (101 Dalmatians 2: Patch's London Adventure)
Do you think I'm one of a kind of just one of a hundred-one?
Do you think I'm one of a kind of just one of a hundred-one?

I love a lot of very underrated characters, so you should get used to this. He's not very well-known and he's always out-shined by Lucky, who I've always extremely disliked. I relate to Patch because of how he always feels invisible and no one in the family ever listens to him. The poor kid couldn't even get one crumb of dog food, I'm surprised he hasn't died of starvation. Could you imagine having ninety-eight brothers and sisters? What a nightmare. I thought my siblings were bad but having that many, talk about a pain. He doesn't even feel like he's an individual with his own name. I'm surprised he didn't run away from home, considering he is kind of a rebel, but he didn't and I admire him for that. He only runs away when his family forgets him when they move away and don't notice, so technically it's not really running away. I love how he tries his best to show that he's something special, is one of a kind, and isn't of just one of a hundred-one. I felt so bad when he embarrassed himself with his bark and everyone laughed at him. I always feel bad for a little kid when something like that happens to them. Poor little guy. I also love how he's really clever. Who says watching TV doesn't teach you anything? While the rest of his siblings are just whining, he feels bad for himself for a while(because Thunderbolt lied to him), but eventually tries to rescue himself and his siblings. He's actually just as heroic, if not more than, his parents, who are very heroic. He proves that he's so much more than just part of a match set. I relate to him so much and hope that I'll get to shine just like him. I really loved writing him in my fanfic, From Paws To Thumbs, it's made me love him even more. He's not higher because the others are just more interesting.

13.Littlefoot (The Land Before Time Movies)
Come on! You can't give up now! What if the Great Valley is right on the other side of these rocks?
Come on! You can't give up now! What if the Great Valley is right on the other side of these rocks?

It was really a hard decision on whether I liked Littlefoot or Patch more, because both are absolutely amazing. I decided to go with Littlefoot because he was a HUGE part of my childhood because I grew up with The Land Before Time movies. I love movies 1-6 and after that it goes downhill. Anyway, back to Littlefoot. First of all, I felt so bad for him when he loses his mother. SCREW BAMBI'S MOM AND MUFASA'S DEATH! (which I still do get tore up about) Littlefoot had to watch his mother die! Later on, after realizing his mom was truly gone and he was all alone, he becomes determined to find the Great Valley, even if he has to do it himself. I love how he tries to be kind to Cera, even though she's just racist and rude to him. However, I also like how he still has his sass with her and lets her know when she's being ridiculous; wow there's a gender switching role. I love how he never loses hope, even when things are impossible, well, besides that one scene close to the end of the first film. In all The Land Before Time movies he's always the one who never gives up and basically pulls everyone together because he believes that if they try hard that nothings impossible. He's the heart of the group. Even when everyone turned on him and went with Cera, he goes after them to make sure they don't get into any trouble, that's very admirable. He's also very clever, like with his plan to get rid of the Sharptooth. I love how curious, brave, fun, and adventurous he is. However, I don't have him higher because at times he seems to have too little to no flaws. He does have flaws but at times he seems too perfect and I prefer more flawed characters.

12.Anastasia (Anastasia)
Men are such babies!
Men are such babies!

This is the only fictional character on this list that actually was a real person, besides Quasimodo being loosely based off someone who used to work at Notre Dame during Victor Hugo's time. She based on the historical Grand Duchess Anastasia and the mystery of whether or not she actually survived the assassination. I believe with all my heart that the real Anastasia survived and no matter what anyone says, nothing is going to change my mind. Okay enough about that, let's talk about the animated Anastasia. I love her sassy and sarcastic attitude, she's so funny. I love all those cracks she makes to Dimitri, they're so funny. She obviously has no problem letting people know how stupid they are, which I love. I even took her saying "Men are such babies" except I say that women are such babies, at least they are where I'm from. I think that she's the second smartest animated heroine, first of course being Mulan. I love how she had such a conflicted life. She forgot who she was, her family was murdered, and her only clue to finding out who she is and finding her family was though a necklace that says "Together In Paris". Could you imagine having a life and family but forgetting it and not knowing who you are or where you came from? Plus I feel bad for her, I mean she was in the orphanage for ten years and nobody adopted her. I admire how even though she's trying to prove she's the grand duchess she feels bad about it. She doesn't know for sure if she really is Anastasia and feels and that she might be trying to deceive the Empress/her grandmother. I loved when she slapped Dimitri when she finds out he lied to her, that's one girl who definitely doesn't take trash from a man. Girls, take lessons from this woman. She finds out that he lies and uses her to deceive a poor old woman just to get money and all while she was falling in love with him. He deserved that slap. I love that she doesn't try to get the Empress to believe that she's Anastasia but just lets her know that she just wants to know who she is and if she belongs to a family. I loved her in the climax, she's not afraid of Rasputin and actually saves herself, though Dimitri tries. Also that she's one of the very few animated heroines who actually kills the villain. She does it for her true love, Dimitri, who he hurt, and her family, who he's responsible for the murder of. Plus how she chooses to be with the one she loves over being a princess, and possibly the Czarina of Russia, that's kind of admirable. I think her personality and the real Anastasia's personality are spot on. The reason she's not higher is because I just love the others more.

11.Angel (Lady and The Tramp 2: Scamp's Adventure)
Dreamed of what? THIS? You have a home and a family that LOVES you! You're not like the rest of us Scamp!
Dreamed of what? THIS? You have a home and a family that LOVES you! You're not like the rest of us Scamp!

The best animal heroine EVER! She's basically a combination of Anastasia, Katara, Meg, Jasmine, Ariel, and Melody. I love how sassy and sarcastic she is when she officially meets Scamp. She knows he's just some confused kid who ran away from home trying to be cool. She knows he's awkward and clumsy, which she finds funny and cute. I love how complex and developed she is. She's had five families that have turned her away when they've moved, had a baby, or an allergy. So she ends up in a gang of Junk Yard dogs and refuses to belong to anybody. However, at the same time she wants a family and to feel like she belongs somewhere, to feel loved. She's basically just this tough tomboy who hides her feelings and refuses to believe there's anyone out there who's truly kindhearted, that is, until she meets Scamp. He helps her realize that there's kind people out there and it's alright to show your emotions. I loved how she tries to help Scamp get on the right path. She tries to get him to realize that his place is with his family and he's lucky to actually have one. She knows how horrible life on the streets is and doesn't want that for the one she loves. Even though she knows it's too late for her, she wants to help him. Plus even when Scamp broke a promise (by accident), she actually goes to help him. She goes to tell Tramp that Scamp is in the pound and needs help. I find it so funny whenever she bits the dogcatcher in the butt. I also love how she's both confident and insecure at the same time. She knows that she's beautiful, strong, brave, and can clearly take care of herself. However, she feels like she's also some kind of reject and mistake of life. She's been rejected and pushed around all her life. She's more complex and developed than Tramp, who I can't stand but my hatred has died down some. I also really enjoyed writing her in my fanfic, From Paws To Thumbs, just like with Patch, it's made me love her more. The reason she's not higher is because the others just interest me more.

10.Emma Swan (Once Upon A Time)
You come after me again I'm coming back for the rest of this tree because sister you have no idea what I am capable of.... your move....
You come after me again I'm coming back for the rest of this tree because sister you have no idea what I am capable of.... your move....

She reminds me A LOT of Angel because they both put up walls, are afraid to open up to people, have had a hard life, and grew up without a family. People usually find Regina more interesting, and while I love Regina, Emma interests me a lot more. I love characters that are afraid to get close to someone because I love to see them develop and grow. People have said that after season one, Emma was a completely different character, which I don't believe AT ALL! She's not the same because she's developing but she's pretty much the same person. She's still sarcastic, has a dry wit, is really smart and clever, and totally bada**. She took down a freaking dragon! I love how even though she's the daughter of Snow White and Prince Charming that she's not your typical princess. One reason for that is because she grew up in the real world. But she's someone who tries to look at things in a realistic way. I love her detective skills, forget freaking Batman, Emma is the best detective EVER! I really admire how she gave up Henry for adoption to give him his best chance. She knew he wouldn't have a good life with her and that he could have a family that could give him a good life. She's a really well-developed character, second most developed after Regina. I love her big heart and how at the end of season three, she finally lets her parents in. But I didn't like that her and Hook ended up together, that couple really was badly done because Hook have very few moments that would hint that he loved Emma in season two. Yet in season three he's in love with her? That was just horrible done! I never saw anything that would hint that Emma loved Hook so that kiss and hook up was just out of nowhere. But I digress. Emma is an amazing character that is strong, intelligent, brave, and one of the most heroically bada** fictional heroines EVER! She's not higher because there were times in the second half of season three that she annoyed me. I hated that she was trying to take Henry away from Storybrooke without any consideration for anyone but herself.

9.Dorothy Gale (The Wizard of Oz)
If happy little blue birds fly beyond the rainbow, why oh why can't I?
If happy little blue birds fly beyond the rainbow, why oh why can't I?

I'll be honest that one of the reasons I love her so much is because I'm a HUGE Judy Garland fan. However, I do love her for other reasons. I love her dreamy personality. I love how she dreams of having a life of adventure and fantasy. Who doesn't want something like that? I loved that scene where she yells at her neighbor for trying to take her dog away to kill him. "You go away or I'll bite you myself!" YOU GO DOROTHY! She's like a mixture of the three classic Disney Princesses, Ariel, and Belle. So she has a hint of old fashion but modern charm, even though her movie was made in 1939. She's just so charming that is absolutely precious, so much that she made me actually say the word precious. She's smart, kind, sweet, charming, brave, and of course timeless. She is kind of a passive character but that doesn't make her bad. There are a lot of good passive characters, it's just that there are also a lot of lame ones like Wendy from Peter Pan. Besides, Dorothy is the one who saves the day in the end by defeating the Wicked Witch of The West. I love how she learns that excitement in your life doesn't mean anything if you don't have your family and loved ones in your life. I love this girl to death! However, she's not higher because the others have more depth to them. She just barely best Emma because she's played by Judy.

8.Misty (Pokemon)
Please stop Tenticruel! Please take them all back to the ocean! Please Tenticruel, this is enough! We humans understand that we've hurt you! We won't destroy your homes anymore! We're sorry so please!
Please stop Tenticruel! Please take them all back to the ocean! Please Tenticruel, this is enough! We humans understand that we've hurt you! We won't destroy your homes anymore! We're sorry so please!

I absolutely LOVE THIS GIRL! She's the best character on the show! She's so awesome! She's also really funny, I love how she hits Ash whenever he irritates her. Also whenever Brock is going gaga and stupid over some random girl he's only know for a few seconds, she grabs him by the ear and drags him off. Could you imagine her in a Disney movie pulling someone by the ear every time there was a love at first sight thing going on? That sure would be a sight. I love that she's able to tell Ash how stupid and arrogant he is in such a sassy and sarcastic way. I love how insane she is and how she doesn't hesitate to almost kill Ash (not literally). I love that she stands up for what she believes in. When the tenticool and tenticruel are attacking a town and people, she knew it had to be for a reason. When she finds out, she tries to help out because she knows that they're not bad and doesn't want everyone to think they are. I loved that scene where she's pleading to tenticruel, my favorite Misty moment EVER! Unlike the new girls that they tried to replace her with, she's not useless at all! I also love her and Ash's love-hate relationship. She acts like she can't stand him, but she really cares about him and secretly loves him. I loved when she said that Ash is never alone because he's got her. I loved that she loves water pokemon the most and that they're only pokemon she has. The way she's so passionate about the sea and water pokemon is the same was I am about the sea. I also love how she hates bug pokemon, I can't stand bugs. I admire how she's actually willing to give up being able to travel with her true love and friends because she cares about her Gym. Talk about so selfless! I also feel bad for her that she has such ANNOYING and selfish older sisters! It's their fault that she had to leave the show. I hate them SO MUCH! They're the ones that caused Pokemon to go downhill! The new Pokemon, the girls they got to replace to her, and just everything is CR*P now! May, Dawn, Iris, whatever that green haired dude's name is, new Pokemon TO H*LL WITH YOU! I HATE YOU ALL! All the new girls are just whiny, stupid, annoying, and completely useless! I wish they'd just end the show now and let Ash and Misty get together. Oh well, she'll always live on in our hearts. I LOVE YOU MISTY! She's not higher because the others have more depth to them.

7.Anne Shirley (Anne of Green Gables)
Tomorrow is always fresh, with no mistakes
Tomorrow is always fresh, with no mistakes

This is definitely my favorite literary character EVER! She's incredible imaginative, probably the most imaginative fictional character in existence. Even when there is a bad situation, she tries to make the best out of it. Like when she thought that she might have to stay at the train station all night, she decided that she would sleep in a cherry tree because she thought it would be very beautiful and literary. But she didn't get to. She's very talkative too, which would be annoying for a character like Wendy, but with Anne is very charming. She's very poetic because of all the books that she reads. She's also an orphan and has lived a very hard life. Her parents died when she was a baby, nobody wanted her when people decided what they had to do with her, a woman took her in because she felt like she had to but made her into a slave, she gave her away to another woman as a slave when her husband died, this woman was even crueler, she was then sent to an orphan asylum after that woman's husband died, and she thought that this one family wanted her but they actually wanted a boy. They were going to send her back but they fell in love with her charm and uniqueness. She would charm many people, pretty much everyone she met. But there were those who didn't like her so she wasn't a Mary-Sue. She's also incredible flawed; she's reckless, clumsy, outspoken, stubborn, and hot-tempered. She's very sensitive about her looks because people told her that she was homely all her life. When Mrs. Lynn called her terrible skinny, homely, freckled, and that she had hair as red as carrots, she just went off on her. When her love interest called her carrots and pulled her pigtails when they were 11, she shouted "You mean hateful boy! How dare you!" and broke her little chock-board over his head. Talk about a fiery redhead! I honestly think she's absolutely beautiful and that she always has been. The book says that she becomes pretty as she grows older but I always thought she was beautiful. I loved seeing her go from an 11 year old little girl into a 16 year old young woman. I also love how dedicated to her friends and family. She's a lot of fun but can be serious. She's not higher because I just like the others more. But I still ADORE her! If you haven't read the book or seen the movie I HIGHLY recommend them!

6.Aladdin (Aladdin)
Would they see a poor boy? No sirie! They'd find out, there's so much more to me!
Would they see a poor boy? No sirie! They'd find out, there's so much more to me!

My favorite Disney Prince! I love how clever and sassy he is while avoiding the guards and making cool comments while doing it. I loved how he only steals food, not money or gems, and sometimes even gives it to those less fortunate, like those two little kids. I love how he defended those kids and the way he insulted that snob of a prince. People look down on him because he's a streetrat and they think he'll never amount to anything. There's so much more to him than just that. I relate to him so much because of that whole being treated like a nobody who has so much to offer but people just don't pay any attention to that. I love how he saved Jasmine from getting her hand cut off. I also admire that he causes problems but he actually goes back to try to fix them because he knows it's all his fault. He even gives up his last chance to be with Jasmine to keep his promise to Genie and set him free. Sure he lied and was a jerk at times but there's something you should be aware of, HE'S A HUMAN! As if none of you have lied or been a jerk before. I also really enjoyed him in the sequels and the TV shows. However, he's not higher because at times in the series he annoyed me.

5.Scamp (Lady and The Tramp 2: Scamp's Adventure)
No walls and no boundaries! Where I can be free! A world without walls and fences, that's exactly where I want to be!
No walls and no boundaries! Where I can be free! A world without walls and fences, that's exactly where I want to be!

You know me, I'm a sequel fan and I have an underrated character in my top five. What can I say? I have a thing for underrated things. I can relate to him so much that it's not funny. I feel bad that he's just cooped up with no life and no freedom. I think that despite his high life style that his life actually sucks. For one, he has absolutely no freedom; it's like with a race horse, if you hold on tight you'll just make the horse mad but if you loosen up than you'll get much more progress. Secondly, he has family problems, I'm not saying they're horrible though. His mom seems like the kind of mom that doesn't get engaged in the parenting. His sisters treat him like just reject that never should have existed. I know all siblings pick on each other. but they set it to new heights, they're almost as bad as Cinderella's step-sisters. His dad is over-protective, never takes the time to listen, only solution to get Scamp to listen is to yell, lies, hides the truth, and just doesn't understand. So I think that Scamp's problem with hating families is that his basically is dysfunctional and since he's cooped up he thinks they're all like that, rather than just being an ungrateful spoiled brat. I've grown to appreciate Scamp's parents more because no parent is perfect, but their mistakes just annoy me. But they're not as bad at their horrible daughters. Anyway, I feel bad for Scamp because he has no friends before he meets Angel. Everyone in his family has friends, that is if you count his sisters having each other, and he has none. I mean in human perspective he's twelve years old. Could you imagine a twelve year old little boy having no friends? There's the baby, but he needed a friend he could talk to about his problems and that could talk back to him. So I think he had his reasons for seeming "ungrateful". All he wanted was to be free and to find out who he is. What's so wrong with that? I also love how even though he keeps failing HORRIBLY at being a junkyard dog, he keeps trying. Most kids his age would just give up but he keeps trying because he knows it's what he wants. I love how awkward he is, he tries to be cool but it's just so clumsy and awkward that he ends up looking like such a dork, but in a good way. I love how he saved Angel, who almost got taken to the pound and could've been killed if she wasn't adopted. He's the first person ever to show her true kindness. He does show sympathy for his family when he sees how sad they are over him leaving, so he's not heartless. Sure he didn't go back, but would you wanna go back to a place where no one understands you and you feel like you don't belong? I know he turns on his dad and chooses Buster over him, but Tramp had it coming. First of all he was making the decision for him. Would you want someone doing that for you? He wants to be able to live his own life instead of someone living it for him. Secondly Tramp lied and hid the truth from Scamp. Would you trust and not be bitter at all towards someone who did that, especially your parents? I love how he realizes that freedom doesn't mean as much if you don't have your family and loved ones, so he has such an amazing growth as a character. He realizes he was stupid and what really matters. I hate that he didn't get to rescue himself or get to show his intelligence much in the movie. He's very smart and heroic but they didn't show much of it, he has so much potential. I wish he could've found a way to have a family but still have his freedom. However overall I find him awesome; he's smart, kindhearted, clumsy, realistic, relatable, well-developed, and we're all like him in someway, whether you admit it or not. Like Angel and Patch, I enjoyed writing him in my fanfic, From Paws To Thumbs, and it made me love him more. He's not higher because the others do have more depth and are just more interesting.

4.Azula (Avatar: The Last Airbender)
I don't have sob stories like rest of you. I could sit here and complain about how our mom loved Zuko more than me but I don't really care... my own mother... thought I was a monster...

That's right, I love Azula much more than Zuko, but he's still awesome. I just always found Azula to be a more compelling character than him. First, let's talk about what makes her such an amazing villain. She is completely manipulative and ruthless. She can turn people against each other and even against themselves. She'll stop at nothing to accomplish her goals. She's the best villain EVER! But she's also really complex. Her father never loved her and was only using her for her abilities, her friends betrayed her, and her mother loved her brother more than her and thought that she was a monster. She's never truly had love in her life, and while she tries to believe that she doesn't need it, she really wants it more than anything. She ends up slowly losing her mind after her friends betray her. This is the result of depriving love to another. People think she's pure evil but she's really not, she's just confused. When she told Zuko she needed him in Ba Sing Se and they conquered it, she really didn't need him anymore. She could have just betrayed him like she did with Long Feng but she didn't. She loves her brother and was doing all she could to look out for him. She even knew that he was secretly meeting Iroh and could have used that to her advantage to gain the throne. But she doesn't, she just warns him to be careful. Also when she makes Ty Lee cry, she instantly apologizes to her within seconds flat. Someone who was pure evil wouldn't care about hurting someone's feelings. I also love her socially awkward moments in The Beach episode. It shows that she has a lot more layers to her than a lot of other animated villains do. I was absolutely torn apart when she cried from her hallucination of her mother and when she has her mental breakdown. I just wanted to hug her. It was the little girl inside of her that had to grow up too fast finally coming out with all the emotions that she had been bottling up to meet with her father's approval and just wishing for someone to help her. I really hope that the comics will give her the redemption that she deserves. After The Search comics, it really proves that she can change and that there is good in her. She's not higher because I just love the others more.

3.Katara (Avatar: The Last Airbender)
No! I will never EVER turn my back on people who need me!
No! I will never EVER turn my back on people who need me!

My user name is not KataraLover for nothing. I loved this girl from the very first episode! I love how she's not afraid to tell people off and let them know how stupid they are. I admire how when her mother died she took over and helped her tribe like a mother. She started doing this all when she was a little girl. She had to grow up WAY too fast. I always thought she was a princess because even if the show won't admit it she is. She's the daughter of the chief of her tribe, so that makes her a princess. I love how she's both serious but as the same time fun. She's inspirational, she stands up for what she believes in. When those Earth benders were forced not to bend, she stood up for them and did everything she could to give them back their faith. She never stops until her goal is achieved. She's what got girls to love the show. I mean without her it just would've been just a boys show. They used her to appeal to the girls and without her we wouldn't have other awesome avatar girls like Toph, Azula, etc. I loved how she pretended to be the Painted Lady to help this poor town. Even when she was told just to forget about it, she just refuses to ever turn her back on people who need her, my favorite moment. Another favorite Katara moment of mine would have to be when she stands up to Pakku. She's come all the way from the Southern Water Tribe to the Northern Water Tribe to learn water bending and he refuses to teach her because she's a girl. She refuses to take that and says that she's going to fight him. She knows she'll most likely lose but does it anyway because she wants to prove that she has what it takes. She doesn't let stupid old fashioned customs stand in her way and lets people know that they're stupid. I also love how whenever the group is just giving up she's the one who pulls them together and tells them that they can do it and they just need to work together. I love that she went from a clumsy little girl to this mature young woman. She's truly a strong woman! People say she's a Mary-Sue and I'd be lying if I said I didn't see it. However I believe she has flaws; she's bossy, hot-headed, impatient, motherly, a little bit of a nag, and aggressive. People don't seem to like that about her either. But she's had to grow up really fast thanks to a war. Do you expect her to be all Mary Sunshine about it when people are dying and suffering? She's always been my favorite character on the show, though Azula is close. The reason she's not higher is because of how she's kind of a nag and bossy.

2.Jack Frost (Rise of The Guardians)
We'll always be there, Jamie, and now we'll always be here, which kind of makes you a guardian too.
We'll always be there, Jamie, and now we'll always be here, which kind of makes you a guardian too.

He is the character that replaced Scamp as my favorite fictional male character, which was no easy accomplishment. I've heard a lot of people say that Jack is just an annoy jerk, which is MAJOR bullsh*t! If that's true than Bella from Twilight is a great character, which she's not. He's a fun character that's very playful, but that's only part of who he is. He's very complex because he doesn't know who he is, where he came from, or what his purpose was. I love that he has a soft spot for kids, especially Jamie, which I found to be a very charming brotherly bond that was amazingly done. Plus, unlike characters that get a lot of love like Naveen and Sinbad, despite being total jacka**es with development that's not realistic and is horribly done, Jack actually has great development and changes. He realizes that, while it is good to know when to have fun, that it also important to learn when to be serious and to live up to your responsibilities. He's one of the best developed characters in all of existence! He makes mistakes and he acknowledges them, blames himself for them, learns from them, and does all he can to try to fix them. He does all he can to protect and help the ones he cares about. He's really great with kids. I cried tears of joy when Jamie believes in Jack and someone finally sees him after hundreds of years of trying to get someone to. I was so happy for him. I love the ending where he tells Jamie that he and the guardians will always be there for him and the other kids and that they'll always be in their hearts, which kind of made him a guardian too. How anyone could possibly hate such an amazing, complex, and well-developed character is WAY beyond me! He's not higher because no one can beat my number 1.

1.Ariel and Melody (The Little Mermaid Franchise)
Ariel: Up where they walk! Up where they run! Up where they stay all day in the sun! Melody: Wish my mother could see it, the sea is my song for a moment, just a moment I belong!
Ariel: Up where they walk! Up where they run! Up where they stay all day in the sun! Melody: Wish my mother could see it, the sea is my song for a moment, just a moment I belong!

Obviously if you know me you know that this is no surprise! I've always loved these two! It's hard to decide which one of these awesome characters is better, so I just decided to give them both the number one spot. First let's talk about Ariel. I loved her when she was exploring the ship. I admire that she's brave and willing to do whatever it takes to make her dream come true. She knows what she wants and is willing to do whatever it takes to make it happen. I wish I was as brave and confident as her. I found her so funny when she was in having dinner and was brushing her hair with a fork and blew that pipe in Grimsby's face. I loved that she's actually the first Disney Princess who saves her prince. Even when things look bad she's still willing to fight for her happy ending. I grew up with the original, the sequel, and TV series. She really deserves her happy ending more than anybody. Now time to talk about Melody. I relate to and I'm the most like her out of all fictional characters EVER! I love the sea just like her! I love that she's adventurous and curious like her mother. I think she's one of the smartest animated heroines ever. I loved how she's actually the one who saves the day, she's the most heroic of all the Young Heroines of Disney. I can go on about how much I love them forever! Both get criticism for bad reasons. So what if they both run away from home for their own personal reasons? They had good reasons! Plus they grew and developed as their stories went on. Plus I think their the most flawed out of all the Disney Heroines, which I love. They make mistakes but they regret them and love their family and friends dearly. They're some of the most well-developed animated characters EVER! Both are brave, smart, heroic, gorgeous, sweet, charming, funny, and completely awesome. I think they're the best fictional characters PERIOD! They will always be my number one favorite, no matter what! I don't care what the haters say because I have an undying love for them.
