I don't think so, rise of the guardians is one of those movies that you can't have a sequel for, just like the incredibles, what would it be about, pitch has tried to spread fear over the world, what will he do now! Try to befriend him.
I wouldn't have a sequel in 1,000,000 years.

Dreamworks always makes sequels...usually....and there is a second in the talking, bringing in about..6 new characters, mother nature being one

Mother nature is pitches daughter ! Of course ! And what about the Lamas ! Oh and I have characters ! Damn my dreams are incredibly weird but six new characters awesome ! Who would they be ? Man I wish I could go to America and help them ! I'm great at having ideas it's like my number one thing !

Although Mother Nature is Pitch's daughter (as written in The Guardians series by William Joyce), the movie does not follow the book completely. Like the girl Katherine. Pitch took her (in the series). But there was no Katherine in the movie, is there?

The ending was pretty much open, and there're many other potential threats to the kids and the guardians out there. It'd be fun to see them embark on more adventures. So why not?

I want to know more about the characters themselves developing their back stories a little more. Even Jack and his adventures prior to dying and what he did and learned being Jack Frost. Jack is from 1700s roughly and soo much maybe even a close encounter of someone who might have believed him. Maybe even a love life he never got to experience because the girl can't see or hear him. You know soo much just off the characters we have now and I applaud the fandoms that have taken the liberty to create interesting stories about each regardless if they work or not.

And if looking at it since the 1700s to 2012 (the release date) Jack experienced the Civil War. World War I and II the sinking of Titanic. Anne Frank, Hitler, the World Trade Center in 9/11 and so much more in all the other countries. My mind can't imagine how much he experienced before finally becoming a guardian.

The ending might not have been an open one, but the books can be made into sequels, with a little changes here and there, it could work. It was a dazzling film. Sadly it wasn't enough of a hit to satisfy the box office -.- (I blame Twilight, lol jk).

(Also, Peter Ramsay [the director] has said that the ratings were enough to make a sequel. And William Joyce [the producer] was talking to Dreamworks about it.)
