When we started the seventh grade, Andrea, Marie, and I were heading to our first class. Suddenly, a boy around my age bumped into me, and we fell to the floor. "Bloody hell!" I exclaimed. "Slow down!" He said, "I'm so sorry. I didn't mean to run into you." He appeared to be out of breath. I became concerned. I asked, "Are you all right?" He said, "I'm trying to get away from them." A group of bullies ran in our direction. I asked, "What do we do, Andrea?" She said, "I don't know." Marie said, "Never fear! Marie is here!" Andrea said, "You have a plan." Marie said, "Yes, I do. We'll circle...

It was summer, and my friends and I were out of school. One day, my parents decided that they would let me have a dog. I had always wanted a dog. They took me to a local shelter to look at puppies. As I was looking, I saw a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. His coat colour was ruby, which is a red/brown. I thought about getting him. I then saw a Dachshund there, and I fell in love with him. I named him Oliver, for Oliver Twist. Andrea and Marie got to meet him after I got him. Oliver was a vocal dog. He would've barked all day and all night if I didn't tell him to be quiet. He had a loud, high-pitched...

When school started back after Christmas break, I was still on crutches. One day, Andrea and I saw a new student being bullied. The bullies had already knocked the poor girl to the floor. They were getting ready to beat her. I said, "Come on, Andrea. Let's get those bullies away from her." Andrea followed close behind. I said to the bullies, "Back off! I've got crutches, and I know how to use 'em!" The bullies walked away. Andrea helped the girl to her feet and asked, "Are you okay?" The girl replied, "I'm fine. Thanks for standing up for me." I said, "It was not a problem." She smiled and...

One day, Andrea and I got into an argument. Neither of us remember why we were arguing. I imagine it was senseless, but whatever the reason, it was horrible for both of us. Andrea went home crying. I felt very guilty. I decided to run away. I packed some sandwiches and slipped out of the house without anyone noticing. I managed to find shelter, and for the first three days, I felt okay. After that, I started feeling lonely. I said to myself, "I don't see how homeless people can live like this. It's a lonely life. I'm sure my parents are worried and missing me. I miss them. I miss Andrea, too....

One day, Andrea and I had a good day at school until the last class of the day. During the last class of the day, there was another girl insulting Andrea. I decided to defend my friend. After all, she had defended me when I first came to the school. I said to the bully, "Leave my friend alone! She's not doing anything to hurt you!" The girl sneered, "What are you going to do about it? Boys can't hit girls." I said, "If they could, you'd be the first one I'd hit!" She said, "But girls can hit boys." I said, "Go ahead! Hit me!" She punched me in the mouth. I thought that a tooth had come out,...

My new neighbour came up to me. She said, "Hi. My name's Andrea." I said, "Hi. My name's Peter." She said, "I like your accent." I said, "Thank you. I'm from Liverpool, England." She said, "Like the Beatles?!" I said, "Yeah." Another Beatles fan! I knew we would get along! Although Andrea was friendly, I could see the sadness in those hazel eyes. After talking for a while, she said, "I have to go, but it was nice talking to you." I said, "It was nice talking to you, too." My mother then came out and asked, "Who was that girl?" I said, "That's Andrea. She's our new neighbour." My mother said,...

My father asked me, "Do you remember that nice American man who came here for a while?" I said, "Yes, I remember him." My father said, "Well, he called me and asked if I'd be willing to come to America and work for him. I said, 'Yes, I'd be happy to.'" I asked, "We're moving to America?" He said, "That's right. We're moving to America." I jumped for joy. I was was going to go where the Beatles have gone. I always wanted to go anywhere the Beatles went, especially America. However, a part of me was scared. I knew that I would no longer be able to see my grandparents every day. I was also worried...

I'd like to thank my dear friends, Peaceandlove67 and 80smusiclover1 for the inspiration.

My story begins April 1, 1999 in Liverpool, England. I almost died in childbirth. However, I did survive, and I was all right. According to my mother, I was a very easygoing baby. I did not fuss unless I needed something. I slept very well, too. I was actually held back from school for a year. It was actually my mother's insistence. She has always been very protective of me, and she didn't like the idea of sending me to school. She didn't want me to get bullied, but no mother wants her son to be bullied....

Hello, everyone, RocknRollSoul60 here, or as most of you know me, Paul. Here, I am sharing my top ten favourite bands. Without further ado, let's get started.

10. Paul McCartney and Wings
Even though my favourite Beatle is John, I do keep an eye on Paul's music. My favourite songs from Paul after the Beatles are with Wings. I personally like "Mull of Kintyre" best. My mother used to sing it to me when I was little after I woke up from a nightmare.

9. Soundgarden
I have only been a fan for about a year now, but I was deeply saddened when Chris Cornell died. The saddest part is he took his own life....

Mia and Anthony had become really close friends. One day, they were playing on the rocks in the river. Anthony slipped and fell into the river. He was unable to swim. Mia saw it happen. She said, "Don't worry, Anthony. I'm coming!" She plunged in after him. The current was strong, but Mia's determination to save her best friend was stronger. Anthony went under. Just when he thought it was over, he felt someone grab him and pull him to the surface. He coughed up some water and looked to see who saved him. It was Mia. She said, "It's okay. I got you." They made it to shore. Anthony had some bumps...

Although Mia had gained some friends over the course of the school year, it was still hard to deal with the scars of self-harm. Because some rat bastards eavesdropped on a conversation she had with Anthony, everyone knew she used to cut. One day, a group of bullies circled around her. She knew what this meant. She said, "Listen, I don't want any trouble." The ring leader said, "I think you do. You're clearly an emo-shredder." She said, "No, I'm not. I haven't cut in almost a year." Another one of the bullies said sarcastically, "Oh, wow, a year! That's impressive!" Another one of the bullies...

One night, Mia went to bed, and she felt okay. She didn't feel great, but she didn't feel terrible. That was never her favourite feeling. The next morning, she woke up at 6:00. She felt awful. She decided to call Anthony. She hated to wake him so early on a Saturday, but he did tell her, "If you need anything, just give me a call." He answered. "Hello?" Mia said, "Anthony, it's me." He said, "Oh, good morning, Mia. You're up early today." She said, "I know. I'm sorry to wake you so early." He said, "Don't worry about it. Are you okay?" She said, "I'm not okay. I need to talk to you." He said,...

The next day, Mia arrived at her school. She saw Anthony and cheerfully greeted him. He smiled and said, "I'm glad to see you're cheerful today." She said, "I still have bad days, but I'm doing better. I know there are better ways to cope." On the way to one of their classes, some bullies surrounded them. The ring leader said, "Look at those scars. She's one of those shredders." The other bullies laughed. Anthony said, "Back off! We don't want any trouble." One of the bullies asked, "Mia, do you ever think you want to die?" Mia said, "No, I never wanted to die. Cutting was what kept me alive."...

From day one, Mia's life was tragic. Her mother died in childbirth, leaving her father to raise her on his own. Thankfully, Mia's aunt came along to help. From the first day she started school, Mia had been bullied. By her preteen years, she began cutting herself to cope. Luckily, her father and her aunt took steps to help her. Later, her father got a job offer in a new city. He would get an increase in pay, so he took it. Mia said, "I hope I won't get bullied in my new school." Her aunt said, "Mia, there's no guarantee the other kids won't make fun of you. Bullying happens in every school....
