I'm just going to repost what I said on Tumblr about this whole 'Ron is not deserving of Hermione because he makes her cry' nonsense- "Today I saw a gif of Ron/Hermione and I just couldn’t contain my delight at how perfect my OTP is. It was when Ron got splinched and he was lying on the floor bleeding and Hermione is over him. And she just looks like she is in so much pain because Ron is in pain. And she’s crying and she’s panicking and she’s yelling at Harry to hurry up and find the bottle to heal him. And I’m just thinking to myself about all the people who say that Ron doesn’t deserve Hermione because he always makes her cry. But isn’t the person who makes you cry the one who has the strongest hold on your heart? And how is making Hermione cry a bad thing? Because think about it. This is HERMIONE. Hermione Granger. She is the smart one, the calm one, the cool and collected one. The one who when everyone else is freaking out, she will remain logical and think of a way to save them instead. But when Ron was lying there bleeding, Hermione lost her cool. She wasn’t perfect-Hermione anymore. She was breaking down and her voice was shaking and it was all she could do to try and keep it together. And she knew now, more than ever, that she needed to keep it together for Ron’s sake, but still, she couldn’t control her emotions. It was the most relatable, the most human, and the most raw that I had ever seen Hermione before. And, in the books, when Ron left and came back, Harry told him that Hermione cried for weeks after he had gone and that she tried not to let Harry see her crying, because she always has to be the one who is strong and calm and thinking rationally. But when Ron was gone, part of her heart was gone so she couldn’t deny that part of herself that was hurting. Think of all the other times that Hermione broke down. It is ALWAYS because of Ron. He’s the one that is able to break down that barrier that Hermione has up. Straight from the very first book when he insulted her and she cried in the bathroom. He inspired change in her. He made her realize that she couldn’t treat people as inferior. When they were 11 years old, it was Ron who made her realize that she didn’t have to be always-perfect Hermione, that she could just be a good friend, because maybe being a good friend was more important. It was RON who helped her to understand that. It is always Ron who brings out the best side of Hermione, the emotion in Hermione, the real Hermione hiding behind her books and intelligence. And it’s because he’s the one who has her heart. JK Rowling wrote something so amazing, I just can’t. My OTP is so beautiful. Sometimes I just want to sit down with a bucket and cry at it’s perfection."
