Sarabi. You know her. You love her. You've at least heard of her... But few know the strange story behind her. That is why I will be going over the full story of Sarabi.

Sarabi, believe it or not, was not born a Pridelander. She was born the princess of the Dunia pride, far away from the Pridelands area. Her parents raised her well as a cub, but she was lonely, as she was the only cub in the pride. Then one day, a daughter was born of another couple in the pride. Her name was Sarafina. Sarabi and Sarafina quickly became friends, spending lots of time together.


Then one day, a rouge lion came. No one knew him or why he was there. But the cries. " They're coming! They're near!" he said over and over. Everyone began trying to stay away from him, and before Sarabi's father could come to see what was going on, the rouge lion was gone. Most forgot about it soon, but Sarafina could not shake the thought that something was coming to hurt them. She started observing the whole territory on occasion to check if anyone was coming. One terrible day, she finally did see what the rouge lion had meant.

"Hyenas! Hyenas are coming! Run!" Sadly, her calls were to no avail. The hyenas were fast and strong, and they came in great number. Sarafina and Sarabi hid in a little cave and hoped the adult lions would survive. Battle raged just outside. Sarabi's mother came in and told the cubs they had to run. "Go. You need to get out of here. We will be okay. But keep going straight, and never look back. I need you cubs safe." "Mom?" "Sarabi, she's right. We need to go."


After a long time going from place to place and running from any bigger carnivore, the two found a third little lion, a boy who led them to safety from the vicious "Outlanders". He introduced himself as Matoota and said he knew where they could stay. With his help, the girls made it to Pride Rock. Matoota could not stay there, but he introduced Sarabi and Sarafina to the current king and queen, Ahadi and Uru. With their blessing, the girls lived in the Pridelands and soon met the two princes, Mufasa and Taka. The four cubs connected and became close.

Soon after, a strange little lioness came to the pride with some friends of hers. She said she and the others had run away from the terror they experienced in their former pride. Despite being the youngest, she was a leader of sorts. No one knew why, except for her new friends. Once she knew she could trust the four cubs mentioned earlier, they became a nice little friend group. She told them everything, but that is another story. Zira's story.


Sadly, cubhood cannot last forever.

Some friendships stayed strong. Mufasa and Sarabi's connection kept growing.


But other relationships were not so lucky.
Like Sarafina and Zira. That definitely went downhill. The worst part was when Sarafina told Zira:



But for Sarabi, things kept getting better. Her connection with Mufasa was undeniable, until one day, it became love. They were mated as soon as they came of age.


When Ahadi passed on, Mufasa and Sarabi became the king and queen of the Pridelands. They soon had a sweet little cub. Simba.


Simba began his life growing wonderfully in the pride. But when he disappeared along with his father, the whole pride was heartbroken.


The only lioness not to lose hope was Sarabi. She led a search for Simba, trying to prove he was alive.


But she and her lionesses had no luck. Simba was now considered dead.
