When we got to know 17-year-old Scotty McCreery on season 10 of "American Idol," he struck us as an all American kid and all-around nice guy. Based on his answers to our Celeb Slam Book questions (below), we're now convinced we were right. I mean, the guy even lists "apple pie" as his favorite food.

Tell us one thing the general public doesn't know about you:
I love to take walks at Lake Benson near my house.

Describe your daily routine:
Right now on tour, I wake up at noon, go to the venue, eat lunch, do some meet and greets, sing, and more meet and greets -- this has been pretty much my routine the past two months on tour.

If you had to choose another career, what would you be?
I'd love to be an astronaut.

If you could be anywhere in the world right now, where would you be?
On a deserted island with my friends.

What super power would you like to have?
I'd like to be able to fly...

Tell us about one of your most embarrassing moments:
I overslept and missed the opening of a baseball game; the coach made me run poles after the game.

What's your guilty pleasure?
Bo-berry biscuits at Bojangles.

What are your can't-miss TV shows?
SportsCenter

Movies that make you cry?
I didn't cry at "The Help," but was starting to "tear up."

Is there another celebrity you've always wanted to meet and haven't yet?
Josh Beckett and Big Papi, both on the Boston Red Sox team.

Is there a celebrity that you have met and been starstruck by?
I was pretty star struck when I met Tim McGraw until we started talking and he made me feel at ease.

What is your favorite book?
Josh Hamilton's book, "Beyond Belief."

What's a surprising activity you do in your free time?
While on tour, I like to leave the venue and walk around the town.

What goes in your carry-on bag on the plane?
Computer, iPod, headphones.

What's your biggest indulgence?
Cookie dough, Cap'n Crunch Berries cereal.

What do your friends make fun of you for?
My friends back home used to kid me for singing all the time -- until I won "American Idol."

What is your favorite song to sing in the car?
"Farmer's Daughter" by Rodney Atkins.

What food can you not resist?
Apple pie and banana pudding.

What is your deepest fear?
That I might do something to disappoint my fans.

If you could trade lives with someone for a day, who would it be?
Josh Beckett. I'd like to pitch for the Red Sox in Fenway Park.

What clique did/do you belong to in high school?
Blue Crew, but it was not really a clique -- we all sat in the student section at our high school football and basketball games.

If you could jam with one person dead or alive, who would it be?
Elvis Presley, OF COURSE.

As Scotty McCreery has been mentioning over Twitter these past few days, the high school student is indeed back in Garner, NC again spending some much-needed quality time with his friends and family.

Now that promotion for "Clear As Day" has lessened, there's not as much Scotty news as there has been, but I assure you that we are always looking, and you are always welcome to email us (mccreerynews@yahoo.com) with a news tip if you come across something before it has been posted here!

As of right now, people are still talking about the release of "The Trouble With Girls" music video, here are...

Among those waving from a float next Thursday (Nov. 24) will be Scotty McCreery. The American Idol will ride on the Home Baked Goodness float singing "Trouble with Girls."

From Tom Turkey, the balloon that historically launches the parade, until Santa glides in front of Macy's flagship store three hours later, 800 clowns, 27 floats, 1,600 cheerleaders, 44 novelty balloons and 11 marching bands wend their way three miles downtown during Macy's 85th annual parade begins on NBC at 9 a.m.

Like everyone, McCreery has a favorite balloon, and he even relates to it.
"Is there a Charlie Brown one?" he asks. "I love that one! People say, when I was younger I looked like him. When I was young I was chubby -- when I was really, really young."
Your whole life has changed since American Idol. What has stayed the same?
Me personally, I’m still the same. My life at home hasn’t really changed all that much. I just went to school today and when I’m home, it’s all the same and it doesn’t change until I’m out on the road.

When the show wrapped, there were all these rumors about you and Lauren. Are you single now?

I’m still single. I’m a busy man nowadays and I don’t have much time to focus on anything except work.

A couple of weeks ago when you were singing the national anthem, the microphone wasn’t on. What went though...
