- Mr. Sherlock Holmes - for me, not a single day goes by without thinking of that witty, eccentric and interresting english gentleman and his dearest fellow Dr. John Hamish Watson -

I am working on a production for ITV, called The Crime Thriller Club. We are looking for the UK’s biggest crime thriller fans to take part in our programme for ITV3. Each episode we would like to feature two enthusiasts of shows like Inspector Morse, Sherlock Holmes, Miss Marple, Lewis, Poirot, Rebus, Taggart, Broadchurch, DCI Banks, Midsomer Murders etc. to come into the studio to showcase their knowledge. If you think this is you please get in touch, hannah.wilson@cactustv.co.uk

Sometimes i feel like Im the only one who doesn't ship " Jhonlock"!! Really I have nothing against homosexuality, i just don't think that Sherlock and Watson are more than just friends!! Even in the BBC series ( wich is awesome) I still think that sherlock doesn't HAVE TO PAIR UP with watson. I prefer the asexual sherlock

I've always liked Sherlock Holmes, especially the new movies, but I think I'm becoming more and more obsessed with it now. xD Mostly because I've been studying The Hound of the Baskervilles in English. :D I actually prefer Watson the Holmes, but still. X3 I'm thinking of catching the modernized Tv shows. (Both Sherlock and Elementary.)

ILuvKowalski: I'm an EXTREMELY STRONG fan of the Cumberbatch version myself and won't go near "Elementary." I suppose it's a mindless bit of fun but the writiers hadn't done their research in Holmes for he never said, in any of the novels or short stories, "Elementary" or "Elementary, my dear Watson." Further more, Martin Freeman's Watson is a much better back story than that of the one in "Elementary." You can't get it any better than an Afghanistan war vet, a member of the 5th Northumberland Fusiliers; not to mention reaching the rank of Captain and is an Army doctor. Most importantly, Watson was written as a MALE; not a a disgraced female surgeon who whas been deprived of her licence. It has been suggested to me that Johnny Lee Miller only got the role because he and Benedict Cumberbatch ( the REAL Holmes) appeared in a London West End production of Frankenstein. BRING ON SEASON THREE!!!over a year ago
I recently decided that I wanted to read through all the Sherlock Holmes stories in the order in which they were published. So far I've gotten through the first two novels and "A Scandal in Bohemia." I am considering reading one story per week.

My friend has started referring to herself as Holmes and me as Watson (which is rather awkward, considering that one of our other friends is convinced that the two are in a gay relationship).

Something Holmes might have quoted about himself (if he had cared for poetry):
I (for ever still)
Is it not wise to make the best of ill?)
Argued against despondency, but pride
Made my companion take the darker side.
The sense that he was greater than his kind
Had struck, methinks, his eagle spirit blind
By gazing on its own exceeding light
(by P.B Shelley)

NEW SHERLOCK HOLMES PLAY:
SHERLOCK HOMES AND THE EDWIN DROOS MYSERY:
The NEW Sherlock Holmes play which brings back the mind bending intellect of Sherlock Holmes to a world of Charles Dickens' genius, and his unfinished final novel come back to life 1890 London, England. Yet, who, hoe or why has this happened and will it lead to the murderer or murders?

I genuinely wish people would stop turning Irene Adler into a criminal mastermind or a love intrest for Homles... It's an insult to the stories.

I agree!! But i think they keep on using her because she is the closest thing that sherlock came to the subject " love" and if he had ever loved anybody.... but i still think she dosen't need to glorified like in the Guy Ritchie movieover a year ago
