Marlene hopped in the penguins habitat. "Morning guys!" Marlene said cheerfully.
Everyone waved to her. "Ello Marlene!" said Private.
"Hello Marlene," Skipper greeted her. "What brings you to our habitat?"
"Oh, nothing. I just wanted to say "Hi"! It's a beautiful day. What are you guys going to do?" asked Marlene. She walked towards Skipper.
"We're just doing our usual routine today, Marlene," Kowalski told her.
"Probably get snowcones at the end of the day," said Skipper. "I'd ask you to come, but we all know what's gonna happen when you step outside the zoo."
Marlene sighed. "Oh, I remember. But can you bring me some back?" she asked sweetly.
Private was at the other side of the habitat staring at them when a thought suddenly poped in his head. "Hmm, Rico. Do you think that Skipper and Marlene like each other?" asked Private. "And by like, I mean like like."
Rico shrugged. "I dunno..." he mumbled. "Maybe."
Private looked at Skipper who was nodding at Marlene. "But wouldn't it be smashing if Skippa' and Marlene liked each other? Finally, Skippa' can have a girlfriend that either won't eat us or will...actually move! Unlike Lola...You still haven't told me what happened to her."
Rico chuckled and said "classified" in his croaky voice.
Later, in the HQ, Skipper was sitting on the table while sipping his fish coffee. Rico was sitting next to Private in front of the TV, combing his doll girlfriend's hair. While Kowalski, who was at the other side of the room, was writing down a formula on his chalkboard.
"Uh...Skippa'," said Private. "Can I ask you something?"
Skipper put down his coffee mug and waddled over to Private. "Sure. Why not."
"Um, do you like Marlene?"
Skipper's eyes widened at the question. "...Uh, yea! Of course! She's our neighbor, after all. But usually annoying when she burst through the front door."
"Um, I mean "like like" Marlene," said Private.
"What!" Skipper exclaimed. "First of all Private, Marlene and I are NOTHING alike! In fact, we're total opposites!"
Private thought it was weird that a few seconds ago Skipper was calm, then later he was suddely angry.
Kowalski overheard their little conversation and decided to step in. "Um, technically opposites attract," said Kowalski. Kowalski flipped through the pages in his clipboard and showed a complicated picture of...some sort. "It is a known fact."
Skipper raised an eyebrow. "Really? How so?"
"Um..." Kowalski thought of an explaination besides all the scribbilings on his paper. "Well, you and Private seem to get along well," he said.
"That's different."
"Me and Rico?" said Kowalski. Rico nodded in agreement.
"That too."
Kowalski raised an eyebrow. "You and Julien?"
"That's also different!"
"Um, Positive and Negative."
"Well that's science!"
"But they're still opposites!" said Private. "And if you two are "opposites", then there's a chance that you two must likely to be attracted to each other. And I've seen you two--"
"Private!" yelled Skipper. "Enough of that nonsence!"
Private studdered. "But-But--"
"No buts!"
Private looked at Kowalski. "I'm sorry, Private," Kowalski apologized. "But I have to agree with Skipper. They seem to annoy each other often, so techincally they're not compatible."
Skipper nodded. "See, Private? Now go outside." Private looked down and waddled over to the door with Rico following him. Skipper smiled victoriously and started walking towards the table where his coffee mug sat.
Kowalski scribbled something down. "Oh, and one more thing," said Kowalski.
Skipper turned around. "Yes?"
"When Private mentioned Marlene, I saw your face turning red." Kowalski smiled.
Skipper slightly blushed. "Wipe that look off your face!" He paused for a moment. "And don't tell Private."
Everyone waved to her. "Ello Marlene!" said Private.
