Not Your Typical Country Girl Chapter Two
We pulled up to the gigantic house and before Bryce could even cut the engine off he hit the horn several different times. I saw several boys coming to the front of the house.
"Are those all your sons," I asked shocked.
"Yes, all four of them," Abigail said proudly, "they are my pride and joy! Sorry, Harmony, we are the only girls."
"Oh okay," I said as I got out of the truck.
I took one step towards the bed of the truck and 3 medium size dogs ran up to be barking.
"Boys down," Bryce demanded, "sorry about that; they will get use to you soon!"
"Good," I muttered.
"Hi, I am Lance," a tall boy said with a thick southern accent.
"Hey, I am Dustin," another tall boy said yet again a think southern accent.
"Welcome to the family," the third boy said, "my name is Clay."
"My name is Finn," another boy said, "it is nice to meet you!"
"Hi, I am Harmony," I said to them as I was a little intimidated.
"Well mom and dad, y'all picked a girl a with name that fits with us," Dustin said as he laughed a little.
"I am not sure if she dresses to fit in with us or not," Lance mumbled.
"Lance," Bryce scolded.
"Boys, where is Tucker," Abigail asked.
"He is still working with that stubborn horse," Finn exclaimed, "that horse will never be broken!"
"It takes time to break a horse," Clay states.
"Why would you want to break a horse," I asked confused.
"Oh no, not that'ta way," Dustin laughed.
"When we say 'break the horse', we are sayin' that we are getting the horse use to a saddle and everything," Finn clarified.
"Oh," I said as my cheeks turned bright red.
"Go get him," Abigail said full of excitement, "I will have lunch fixed in an hour! I want you all to keep Harmony company while I make lunch!"
"Okay, I will mom," Lance volunteered.
I grabbed one of bags and followed them into their house. It was so pretty once we got into the house. There were several rooms in the front of the house. There was an office, a fancy room, and then the ceiling went up really tall and the room opened up really big. I guess this was the living room.
"I will show you to your room," Abigail said thrilled.
"Okay," I said nicely as possible.
I followed her up a big staircase and down a short hall. We stopped at the last door on the left.
"This is your room," she smiled.
I watched as she twisted the door knob and opened the door.
"I hope you like it," she exclaimed.
I walked in and it was big. I mean I have never had my own room before. This was big.
"Do you like it," Abigail asked hopeful.
"It is huge," I said in shocked.
"Is that a good thing," she asked confused.
"It is," I said, "It's so pretty!"
"Awe, I am so happy you like it," she said, "I will be fixing supper so you just come down when you are ready!"
"Okay, thank you," I said grateful.
I looked around the room. It was okay. It was very country. But I mean we live in Alabama! You cannot get any more country than this! I looked out the windows and there was nothing but open fields, a big barn, and a lot of woods. I could not even see the nearest neighbor when looking out thus bedroom window.
I had to retrace my steps to get back to the front door. I was going to get lost in this house since it was so big. The big living room was connected to the kitchen.
"Tucker, this is Harmony," Abigail said as we shook hands.
"Nice to meet you," he said as I smiled nicely.
He was tall and blonde headed. His hair was so white that it sort of looked funny.
"Harmony, what do you like to eat," Abigail asked curiously.
"Anything," I said, "when you have lived in an orphanage as long as I have, you will learn to eat anything they fix!"
"Oh okay," she said as she started pulling stuff out of the fridge.
"Are you cooking pizza," Finn asked excited.
"Yes," she laughed.
"Yum; I cannot wait to eat," Tucker stated.
"How is that horse comin'," Bruce asked.
"It is not goin' good," Tucker stated, "that thing is just stubborn! It is awful. But I will break her eventually!"
"That is good to hear," Bruce said.
"Why don't y'all show Harmony, the farm while I cook supper for us," Abigail said.
"You want to," Dustin asked.
"Sure," I shrugged.
We literally walked right out the back door and we were close to the barn and everything else.
"What are you naming the horse," I asked trying to make conversation.
"Don't know yet," Tucker said, "I don't name em', Dustin, Clay, Lance, and Finn names em'!"
"Okay," I said simply.
"There are fields where we grow cotton and anything else," Bryce said, "it depends on the weather what we grow!"
"Over there is the barn and right but it is where the new horse is," Tucker stated, "be careful goin' around her. She's a wild horse!"
"Cool, I will," I said.
They showed me the inside of the barn and everything else around here. The three dogs kept up with us the whole entire time we walked around. It was odd, they followed us like they were lost.
"There is the supper bell," Lance said with a ton of excitement, "let's eat!"
"Let's go," Clay said.
