When Zap2it visited the set of "The Vampire Diaries" in Atlanta, we had a long chat with our favorite doppelganger, Nina Dobrev -- and we thought we'd give you a little sneak peek of our interview to tide you over through the last weekend of hiatus.

Yes, vamp fans, "TVD" returns this Thursday, April 7, after a long, bleak intermission, and the stakes are higher than ever for Elena (Dobrev) as she prepares for the inevitable arrival of Klaus -- the greatest villain we've faced yet.

Whenever Elena is in danger, which is pretty much always, Stefan (Paul Wesley) and Damon (Ian Somerhalder) are on high alert. In upcoming episodes, the brothers Salvatore, who have lingered in an unlikely alliance all season, are going to turn on each other once again. They disagree on the best way to protect Elena. Plus, Damon is about to get more vocal about his strong feelings for his brother's girlfriend -- and his character will be called into question when Stefan and Elena discover that he's been compelling and feeding from the local news anchor.

There's no doubt that Damon's taken a dark turn in the second half of this season, but Dobrev is quick to point out that it's hard to blame Damon for following his natural, bloodthirsty instincts. Elena has asked Damon to "be the bigger man," and to his credit, he's put forth considerable effort.

"When we first started the show, Damon was this crazy maniacal killer, and he was basically a ticking time bomb," Dobrev says. "Then he started to somewhat redeem himself, almost for Elena, and he kept doing all these great things, but he wasn't really getting rewarded for it. To his defense, why be good if nothing ever comes of it?"

She makes a good point. Throughout the season, Damon has pulled through for Elena on countless occasions, but -- despite the fact that she has forgiven Damon for some of his more dastardly deeds -- she's still only got eyes for Stefan.

"He never gets rewarded for his good deeds, so he's kind of going back to his selfish state as well," she says, referring to his new girlfriend, Andie Starr. "[He's] doing things to make himself happy and to feel loved and get attention, even if he's compelling someone to give him that attention and it's not genuine."

Damon's influence in their lives is going to cause some strain for Stefan and Elena, who just can't seem to catch a break. Earlier this season, they took a weekend vacation. Before it was interrupted by a murderous werewolf, the question of their future together (and the implied obstacle of his immortality) was addressed. Elena didn't really want to touch on it, but we had to ask Nina her opinion on whether Elena would be ready to commit to an eternity with Stefan.

"The question of whether or not Elena will turn and become a vampire, whether for or not for Stefan -- it's always a possibility," she says coyly.

There are certain things that stand in the way of Elena making that kind of a choice. Dobrev points out that while Stefan has lived an entire lifetime and experienced all there is to experience, Elena is still a 17-year-old girl -- and though that 150 year age difference hasn't been a problem yet, it lingers there.

Plus, as she adds, "There's always the Damon thing."

So, I made yes-and-no poll (in the TVD spot) to vote for Paul in TCA's 2012. I included a description saying "He needs to win this time and deserves to win." Then a (Not DE fans, a) DE fan picked no and commented saying, "Ian deserves to win. 3rd time in row?? I don't care. He's the best. He should win for eternity."

Like what the fuq, bro? Paul hasn't given credit or appreciated by his hard work this season and you keep saying those things to him? You (the DE fan), are selfish. All you care is about Ian or Damon or whatever.

I'm not saying that you should all vote for Paul because he greater than Ian. I'm saying is that Ian is the best too but, at least be fair. Give Paul a chance. He has worked very hard, as Ian.

Paul needs to win this time. And the Teen Choice Awards 2012 is before his birthday. Make it as his birthday giftfrom his fans.

Vote for him here: link

It was never this cold in Mystic Falls - Stefan thought. It rarely rained or snowed there, but the air was chilly tonight. Stefan did not mind, though. The change was nice. He was standing in front of his house, or what used to be his house. He didn't know can he call that place a home anymore. A week passed since Klaus had set him free. With all of his forces he tried to avoid any of the people he knew, especially Damon and Elena. He knew they both think he betrayed them, that he did what he did for selfish reasons, and he didn't know how to confront them and prove them otherwise. He didn't...

I do not own this article. I have to share this with the fandom. I just saw this on Tumblr so.
Don't get mad at me or anything. Like I said, I didn't write this.
Enjoy :)

Now, let’s contrast the signs of abusive relationship with the signs of a healthy relationship. So, the following signs are signs of healthy relationships. Now, I’m going to prove that Stefan/Elena are indeed the healthy relationship between the two. Here are the signs of a healthy relationship.

1. Talking and acting so that your partner feels safe and comfortable doing and saying things?

(CHECK. Stefan/Elena always communicate...

I’m so fucking disappointed in episode 3x19. Really.

No offense but, Elena is a bitch. She and Damon made out in the motel behind Stefan’s back! Like, who do you think you are playing with? We thought “It’s always gonna be Stefan.”

Turns out, Elena, you broke our heart. You broke Stefan’s heart.

It really hurts me when I see Stefan sad or emotional. I just have a soft spot for him. That’s all. I think Stefan doesn’t deserve any of this.

For 3x20, you said “I don’t know where we are, what we are, or if we can ever make our way back to each other, but I’m going to the dance...

Stefan and Elena have a true love story, they have a buildup. From the beginning of the show they had passion and epic written all over them.

Delena fans say that they are "boring" because "all they do is kiss and make out" oh well at least Elena can be true to herself around Stefan and tell him that she loves him, unlike with Damon when she's always scared.

This is what I love about SE, that they are always there for each other, they feel comfortable with each other, and look like they're two puzzle pieces that fit together perfectly.

If you take Damon and Elena for example, they're two totally...

The argument that Damon is better for Elena because he’ll do anything to keep her alive, even sacrificing her loved ones etc, is quite sad. Elena isn’t an animal that’s going to be extinct. She’s a human being. She can’t have a bodyguard follow her around 24/7, she can’t live her life being told what to do and what decisions to make. She might as well go to prison, because that’s exactly how Damon treats her. Like an object/prisoner, like HIS toy. At the end of the day Elena is a grown woman, who’s had more happen to her than a middle aged adult. She is capable of making her...
