Lena_t STUART SUTCLIFFE SIGNED PERSONALLY OWNED BOOK- A blue ballpoint pen signature of John Lennon’s best friend and early Beatles bass guitar player Stuart Sutcliffe on the inside front cover of “From the Cape to Cairo-The First Traverse of Africa from South to North” by Ewart S. Grogan. Published by T. Nelson & Sons Ltd. This book was personally owned by Stuart Sutcliffe. The previous owner purchased it and several of Stuart’s poems at a Liverpool auction in the 1980’s. When they purchased they were told that it was one of Stuart’s favorite books. The previous owner emailed Tracks U.K. to verify the autheticity. Tracks replied that it was authentic and that it was an early signature. The condition of the book is good with no loose pages, no missing pages and no ripped or torn pages. There are some stains on the paper and some scuffs on the cover but overall it is in good condition. It’s very difficult to find items with a direct personal connection to Stuart.
